This is my Entrance to Storytelling Contest #2

The Mzarx500 is a fierce ship with cutting edge technology. It's by far the fastest ship in the 98D sector, it has full plasma cannons, that can shoot in any direction, its design in slick and oppressive, making all other ships to look like children's toys. It's so incredible that all the raiders of the sector try to put their hand on it, but always fail due to the speed and fire power of this ship. Most people call it "Death Lighting" but Captain Sam call it "The Moth". And Sam can do that, after all, who is the owner of the ship? That's right, Sam is. Maybe that name is because of the stealth system of the ship, or maybe because it can fly in any direction, but no one dares to question the Captain. The small crew that travel with Sam are Mink, the crazy torak space engineer and Lativber, the human weapon specialist. No one is sure of what race Sam is, but again, no one dares to question the Captain. They get along very well, and have been in many trips together. You could say they are family already, just don't say it in front of the Captain. Something happened in the past with the Cap's family, but by now you probably know already what I'm going to say right?
It all started as it always does: Sam got a message to help some traders in the border of Guklen, really close to the Runit system. "Ok, another easy job for us" thought Sam, while setting the course in the ship main window. "Warp gate ready to deploy Cap!" screamed Mink below the deck. Sam was not a big fan of warp gates, but it was the only way to get to the destination in time to meet the traders. With a simple gesture in the air, the portal was open in front of the ship. A big golden purple ripple in space, bending the view in front of them. Lativber gripped tight to the chair, and in a blink of an eye they were gone. The jump is supposed to be fast and clean, but for some reason it was taking longer than usual. Sam decided to look the left to watch the ripples of energy that happens when you warp, but what the Captain saw was...

Mink realizes that the engine is not receiving the correct flow of oxidant, and what a moment for a failure to occur, all this Sam turns on the RP1 engines to give Torak a little more time, which in turn and due to the Urgency only decides that the fastest way to get out of trouble is to send the direct injection command to the oxidant tanks, he quickly communicates with Sam through the radio and tells him ... It will be a great story to tell or we will just go down in history ..

Sam takes 5 long seconds to think about the order he was about to authorize, and it is not for less ... because thanks to an exactly the same maneuver where the unexpected load of this component in liquid form exploded the back of the little girl Ship where he was traveling with his family which caused an imminent loss of oxygen in the back of the boat, causing a death not only due to asficcia to his pregnant wife but also they froze immediately, these are the images that he will never be able to erase SAM from his memory as he looked out the window as this fatal accident happened. and to think that just when he was just celebrating his first year as captain and the plans were to spend some holidays on his planet called Kreton .. From that moment Sam was never the same again .. I swear never to mention anything about his past again to avoid at all costs the pain he felt every time he breathed ... a short time later he only went from galaxy to galaxy frequenting what could be considered interplanetary pigsty, places as despicable as the clientele that frequents them, among this life Sam became not only his character but also his audacious way of facing the challenges that life had for him in the future.

Now you understand why almost no one knows where Sam comes from and I say that almost no one is because the only one who barely knows the story is Mink.
Well then let's go back to where we left off ...

Sam takes a deep breath and says ... do it once and for all

Sam orders Lativber to be attentive to the plazma canyons because a cold runs through his body when he realizes that they have fallen in zone 405 .. A no-man's-land that borders the dreaded RAGIR a space where they are confined to eternity. The greatest criminals in the galaxy, are right on the edge of it and are in great danger since that area is known for the great activity of black thieves that are formed when these unwanted residents are sent!

Fortunately Torak solves the failure after 8 long hours of suspense in space drift, it was the long awaited moment for Mink to be able to shout again "Warp gate ready to deploy Cap!"

Everyone in their posts returned safely to the Guklen border, and although they arrived much later than they had planned, they did not miss the opportunity to carry out their main objective which was to assist the Merchants ...

Then days later and already celebrating in Runit, Sam orders Mink to bring the large chest that is in the upper part of the observation tower, Mink hurriedly does as he was instructed to do.
Sam at the table opens the chest and takes out a small sack which he throws aside to be able to take an emerald-colored bottle, with a golden lid.

He puts it in front of himself, then details it, sighs and then looks at everyone .. and says, This is the only memory I have of that fateful day when I lost my wife and my little unborn child, I had planned to take this fine elixir which an unknown space traveler exchanged with me for a fuel. He told me that it came from a place called Earth, and that it was millions of light years to the interstellar southwest. As a child I used to hear stories from my ancestors about how beautiful and vast that planet was. So do not hesitate for a second to use it in a special moment ... that never came.
