The fishermen's boats: postcards πŸ“ΈπŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

Nothing is more beautiful than walking by the sea, especially on splendid sunny days, taking advantage of the favorable climate and admiring the small boats stationary in the port. I really like to observe the small boats, always well preserved by the owners who, in addition to still using them as a means of fishing a short distance from the coast, are an incredible attraction for many enthusiasts or simple passers-by.

Today everything is digitalized, technological, avant-garde and yet there are many fishermen who have decided to continue the fisherman's profession, often handed down from generation to generation. Some boats have decades behind them but thanks to continuous maintenance, to the care that every man dedicates as if he were a member of the family, the boats resist the force of the sea, wind and time.

When I was younger, on the port of my city, early in the morning people waited for him to arrive from the sea, loaded with fish and the fishermen could not even get on the quay and sold the fish directly from the boats. Today the large-scale distribution has changed everything, fish reared in large artificial tanks is preferred and the enthusiasm that greeted the fishermen on their arrival has been lost.

Now the harvest of the fishing is often used for the needs of the family, something is sold but the sea is a bit drained after decades of intensive fishing. People also don't have time to go to the port early in the morning or maybe they don't feel like it. Shopping centers are the ruin of our tradition, to the detriment of the genuineness of our products.

Globalization has changed the quality of our life so much. We have less and less time and less desire to think about the quality of our life: we are what we eat, but all this no longer makes sense.

Great photos! I guess I'll go for a walk by the sea in the evening. :))
