I had to shoot it before I could shove it down the toilete with a broom!

I laugh so hard at this... so good...

I totally agree with you, lies are pure burden on yourself. I always thought when I lied (I was really good at this when I was a teen) I was building a spider web. And the process was exactly as you described: Who knows what? What do I have to tell this person to pass the lie to this other? It was a lot of work, but I enjoyed it.
Until the day that my web was broken and I lost some good friends. That was the day when I realized that no matter how much work you put it a lie, the truth always comes up.
And It's soooooo much easier to work with the truth! Of course, like you said, there are some situations that you have to lie to save your life or your job, but in a way you are still true to yourself.

Thanks for sharing!
Keep posting and keep shining!

I'm with @fireguardian, that ending had me chuckling away to myself lol.

My friend introduced me to Jordan Peterson a couple of years ago now, and although I don't follow his stuff lately I definitely found value in it when I went on a Youtube binge of his work. He's been a great help for a lot of lost people.

Lying is definitely something that can build up weird emotions within. I was a master in the art when I was younger and even found myself lying for the sake of lying. It was a real stain on my personality. I'm fortunate enough to have removed that from my life in the present. Honesty is best, and like you point out, sometimes you just don't need to say anything at all.

Very interesting. I've found that one of the reasons that many of us like is the inability to say no. We just don't like disappointing people so we concoct lies.

Now, rather than lying and risking disappointment later, I try to say 'no', if i'm not comfortable and get it out of the way.

Yeah. Saying "no" got a lot easier for me, when i realized, that I don't owe anyone an explanation.
If people close to me ask, I'm fine telling them the truth, even if it's just "I don't want to", but most people have to deal with the no on it's own.
