Never let the battery of your hope turns 1%. Turn it up. You have what it takes.

Hello,

Lately, I have been getting some inspiration on posts on the Hive blockchain. Out of normal thoughts that are pushed up to the trending page, some posts are fantastic to read. Hope is not a new thing everyone doesn’t have one/two ideas of. But when we add some words of clarity to some things we already know, it becomes new. Most of us that are Christian goes to church on Sundays to listen to the message/salmon from the Pastors. Sometimes they repeat their past messages, but they try to make it clear than it was and it will seem like something new to the congregation.

About two days ago, @tarazkp published a post on a topic, “what do you hope for when you post”? I bet no one wants to have $0.01 on their post. The dream of majorities of people in here is to see decent value and engagement for the quality they create, but most time it doesn’t turn out like that. In his (@tarazkp) post, he made some cool points, but one that I like is this.

I would predict that many survivors who endured long term misery did so because they had hope that they would make it out of the situation and be better off for it.

This made me remember two years+ ago. I had been living a very healthy life, but two years ago, I got sick. I went to different hospitals for treatment. I heard a lot of scary things, and I was so scared. I thought I would die. My BP was extremely high because of fear, not really because of the sickness. So, one day I went into one hospital and the nurse checks my BP, and called me, “hey young man, are you scared”? I said yes. She responded, “do you believe in God”? I told her I do, and she gave me hope that I could not give myself. She said, “you are not dying”. You are only sick for the moment, and you will be all right. She also advised me to stop reading publications about the sickness on the internet, that it won’t help me for the moment.

I followed all her advice, and gradually as I was taking my medication and taking away worries and steadily, I began to feel better. Right now, I am 95% free from the sickness because of hope for better health.

Hope and Optimism

These are synonyms, but hope seems more powerful, and it is the fundamental word that gives birth to optimism. We often use optimism for achievement and believing that something would happen. This may be slightly quirky, but it more of a personal view. However, we need to be flexible in using them.

Rabbi Jonathan Sacks teaches, “Optimism and hope are not the same. Optimism is the belief that the world is changing for the better; hope is the belief that, together, we can make the world better”.

From these words, it shows that we need to do some things before we can hope. Nigeria is one of the great Nation in the world with many mineral resources. Nigeria could be like the top countries in the world if the leaders are good. Late General Sani Abacha looted Nigeria funds and spread all around the world. Switzerland is still paying Nigeria back bit by bit. The United States paid $300 million from this fund weeks ago. The people that are collecting this money now are still dipping the part in their pocket. Nigeria got her independence in the year 1960. It has been 60 years already. A country that supposed to grow with the speed of a cheetah is now growing with the snail’s speed. But the people are still optimistic that the future will be okay. When is the future?

If you are given a cup of water which the content is in the half part of the cup, would you say, the water is half-full or half-empty?

Hope and Wish

Wish is a desire which can get frustrated without hope. Hope keeps us going even when we do not get the things we wished for. We all wish for happiness, but sometimes life will throw some dirt at us and the things we wish for will seem no coming. But if we have strong hope, we can keep pushing until we achieved all our wishes. Thomas Edison conducted the test for the light bulb for 1001 time before he achieved his dream. What pushed him to that point? He could have stopped after he conducted failed experiments for 25 times.

Never let the battery of your hope turns 1%. Turn it up. You have what it takes.
