Applying the Newton’s Laws for greater results.

Sometimes, we set our minds to do something productive like complete a chore, finish a project, do some exercise, and other things of value, but we find them difficult to do. This may result from laziness, inadequate plan, or misplaced priorities.

In 1687, an eminent scientist, Sir Isaac Newton wrote a mind-blowing book on “the three laws of motion”. Most of us know about the laws, but we focus on applying them to science only, but we can also apply these laws in actual life.

Let’s analyze this:

NEWTON’S FIRST LAW OF MOTION:

Newton’s first law of motion states that a body will continue to be in its state of rest or motion unless an external force is acted on it.

It is a natural tendency for your body to feel lazy when you get to set out to do something productive. Unless you start, it remains the same way. Procrastination is man’s biggest enemy.

“Do it now as long as it’s possible.”

When you set the ball rolling, you realize you can’t stop. What do I mean?

Imagine you had plans to exercise in the morning. You prepare your kit, fill up your water bottle, and set stuff for the morning. That alone is a big way to overcome procrastination. That small start might as well get you on the run in the morning.

As a writer, you may feel the urge to write an idea in your mind. But when you keep procrastinating, you won’t get it done. As soon as you set the pen rolling, you notice how spontaneously your ink flows.

Use what I call the one minute rule. This rule states that when you start a task, you set the ball rolling within one minute.

NEWTON’S SECOND LAW OF MOTION:

This law states that the applied force is a product of the mass of an object and its acceleration.

Newton’s second law is a measure of applied force. Force is a vector quantity, with size (how hard you work) and direction (where the work is being applied.)

Channel your hard work to the right things and remove obstructions. It’s not about how hard you work, it’s about where all the hard work gets channelled to!

NEWTON’S THIRD LAW:

Newton’s third law states that “actions and reactions are equal and opposite.”

Meaning when you channel your attention, time, and focus to unproductive forces, you receive unproductive returns. But when you channel them to produce things, you receive productive returns.

We all have an average speed we measure in. this depends on the productive and unproductive forces in our lives.

What are these productive forces? Focus, self-motivation, and positivity.

What are these unproductive forces? Excess sleep and juggling many responsibilities.

This is the reason most people find solace in drugs. Some drink several cups of coffee to increase their productivity time.

How do you balance this to yield positive returns?

To become more productive, increase your productive force and overpower unproductive forces.

As much as possible, eliminate opposing forces, reduce the number of time-consuming, unnecessary responsibilities and eliminate stumbling blocks.

The laws of productivity:

  • Get started!

  • You mustn’t work so hard! Learn to work right. Apply your forces to the right things at the right time.

  • Balance opposing forces. Remove stumbling blocks.

Follow these simple rules and watch improvements in your productivity.

Thank you!
