Americans elected the new president and, with him, bring back the hope of unifying the country...
I think it's hard to make a case that President Biden represents any special hope for unity compared to the other way around. Both men are deeply unpopular with each other's supporters. And both men (along with circumstances) motivated those supporters like never before.
81 million people voted for Joe Biden, and support a vision of the future that is starkly different from the 74 million people who voted for Donald Trump. Those numbers are both really big and really close, in terms of capacity for one population to impede the aims of the other.
My read on the mood in my country is that it's the degree of disagreement that divides Americans rather than the personalities of our leaders.

Biden is not going to perform any miracles (that is a fact), but in one way or another, he is representing (at least now) the feeling of renewal (although it is not something complete).
Indeed. Ultimately the hard work of unity will fall to the people.
