Red River Walk, Part 2

The area behind the Krasnaya River has been intensively built up with new houses for the last ten years. The city used to end with Doblesti Street, and then there was a low-lying area overgrown with stunted shrubbery. In frosty or dry summer weather, you could walk along the paths to the shore of the Gulf of Finland, but you usually needed tall rubber boots for such a walk. We chose a frosty day for the walk, so we reached the shore of the bay without much trouble. There was a lot of industrial waste dumped into the Red River and the water in the river did not freeze. But a little further, the water is covered with a thick layer of ice, and you can make out the figures of fishermen on the ice of the Gulf of Finland.
