Hola amigos! Por este lado del mundo seguimos en cuarentena, y, actualmente, mi única distracción fuera de casa es hacer mercado. Me emociona desde crear la lista de compras hasta ir al supermercado, ver a la gente, “pasear” por las estanterías.

Hi, folks! On this side of the world we are still in quarantine, and currently my only distraction outside the house is to do market. I get excited from making the shopping list to going to the supermarket, seeing people, "walking" the shelves.

Mi novio y yo haciendo una fila para poder pagar algunas cosas que compramos. / My boyfriend and me standing in line to pay for some of the things we bought.

Este único día que salimos aprovechamos para comprar agua, vegetales y frutas, carnes, carbohidratos y alguno que otro dulce que nos sirva de merienda. Cuando llegamos a casa dejo todo en la sala y me dispongo a desinfectar los empaques con alcohol y a lavar todas los vegetales y frutas (últimamente he estado muy intensa con la limpieza)

This one day we go out we take the opportunity to buy water, vegetables and fruits, meats, carbohydrates and a few sweets for a snack. When we got home I left everything in the living room and got ready to disinfect the packaging with alcohol and wash all the vegetables and fruits (lately I have been very intense with cleaning)

Cuando ya toda la compra está lista y organizada, nos ponemos a cocinar, lo que también suele ser muy divertido porque ese día que hago mercado pienso en qué voy a hacer de almuerzo y aprovecho de comprar alguno que otro “gustico” (una compra fuera de lo común en Venezuela). Por ejemplo, el día de hoy que compré aceitunas a poco más de 1$ para realizar un rico arroz con pollo y aceitunas.

When all the shopping is done and organized, we start cooking, which is also usually a lot of fun because that day when I go to the market I think about what I'm going to do for lunch and I take the opportunity to buy an unusual purchase. For example, today I bought olives for a little over $1 to make a delicious rice with chicken and olives.

Hacer mercado, limpiar los productos, organizarlos y preparar el almuerzo consume la mitad de mi día y termino muy agotada, sin embargo, agradezco tener comida en casa, algo muy cuesta arriba en Venezuela en medio de una pandemia. Espero esta situación mejore para todos!

Doing market, cleaning the products, organizing them and preparing the lunch consumes half of my day and I end up very exhausted, however, I am grateful to have food at home, something very uphill in Venezuela in the middle of a pandemic. I hope this situation gets better for everyone!
