Hello everyone. A pleasure to greet you and share with you my thoughts and ideas.

A few days ago, @reymoya95, in a post invited his readers to answer: What kind of customer are you?

It seems an everyday and simple question but I think it is more than that because it involves a lot of feelings and the way of being and believe me, where these two elements come into play, nothing is simple.

I tend to be pretty quick in my regular purchases, obviously, I already know what I need and I have favorite places to shop. The same happens when I go to buy a good or service that I already know about.

So you could say that I am an uncomplicated customer.

However, when I have to buy something about which my knowledge is scarce, such as vehicle spare parts, I ask questions that in my opinion are necessary for me to be able to make the purchase, and they are not only related to the product itself, but also the after-sales service and the added value that what I am buying may have and, if the answers obtained are not really satisfactory for me, it is difficult for me to make the purchase.

With these actions, in the eyes of the seller, I could be an "annoying" or complicated customer, and from my point of view I am not: I just want to be sure of what I buy.

It is not so easy to define yourself as a customer. Emotions and feelings are at stake. How many of us in any conversation with friends or family have not said things like: "That salesman is really unpleasant! That salesman is really unpleasant? and we have received answers similar to this one: No way, he is really cool and nice!

And we know that on the other side the same thing happens: for some vendors/suppliers we will be "annoying" customers and for others, we will be the best in the world.

We cannot forget that we are human beings carrying out a commercial transaction and whether or not it is successful or not will depend on the subjectivity of each one of us. The customer, who is concerned about the money he is going to spend, will always ask for the best in product and service. On the other hand, the seller or supplier will always want to sell with the least possible effort and in the fastest possible way as if it were a Coca Cola.

This can generate situations in which the rating of good or bad by both positions is affected by situations that either of the parties involved is unaware of, or that may be beyond the control of either of them: a bad day, equipment failure, personal problems, process errors, etc.

At some point in our lives, all of us have been in both positions: sometimes I am a customer, and other times I am a salesperson. And when we analyze this is that we must practice that little word called EMPATHY.

Being customers, we often think that the seller is there for me, for what I need, and maybe I can be arrogant because I will pay. And when we are sellers, we believe that our product/service is the best or is the only thing in the market and the "interested" in it must accept it as I say.

And it is not like that. We should all put ourselves in the other person's shoes when I go to buy and when I go to sell: How do I want to be treated? How am I treated? As a customer, am I asking in the best way without being exasperating? As a salesperson, am I giving the value my customer is looking for, am I being clear?

In my role as a customer, I generally greet with a "Hello" when I am looking for someone to serve me or if I am approached by a salesperson. I smile. I ask respectful questions and listen to suggestions. I try to resolve any negative situation in the best way. As a service provider (this is my area of work) I do the same.

Although I will not deny that sometimes these behavioral actions are difficult for me, I try to do it most of the time.

Far from labeling ourselves as a demanding or good customer, or an unfriendly or cool salesperson, I think we should strive to do our best in both ways...I am sure that many unpleasant buying or selling experiences would not exist.

This is my perception... What is yours?

Gran publicación, me encanto. Saludos.
