Come Walk with Me in MyCalifornia!

(Edited)

It is wonderful to take a stroll in any of the streets of my old town, especially during sunny afternoons like today.

The many homes are classical Italianates and picturesque Queeen Anne. I've written about this town several months ago here during one of the #marketfridays of @dswigle.

Many of these early landmark homes have been exuberantly restored and painted by their owners.

Sometimes, when I want to learn the history of this town's pioneer families, I go through some of these streets.

This one for instance, has elements of both late Georgian and Federal (or Adams) style evident in the exterior symmetry, hipped roof and cornice with decorative molding.

But today I want to focus on the tree roses. There are five plants in front of this house. The owner has alternated red and yellow tree roses.

They are well-care of by the gardener or homeowner. The leaves are thick and the flowers are leathery, thick and huge!

Look at this tree rose. I count a total of twenty blooms! I did not realize until now that tree roses can have numerous blooms!

What about this one. It has tremendous flowers! This has 27--- twenty seven red roses! All in one tree rose!

This tree rose is just starting to flower. A lot of flowers, this one will have! Roses are popular flowering plants in this neighborhood.

I will show you just how popular they are in succeeding articles. So, stay tuned!

I used Pinmapple to pin this post to the world map using a code generated at Pinmapple to mark the place where I traveled and took these photos.

It is so cool! You should try it!

Sometimes I take the beauty of this place for granted.
I forget that it was a consideration when I bought my house... the old part of town!
Sometimes it is not in a the grandeur of the place!
I think of all the people who lived in this town, and this home since 1872 (although I didn't show much of it)!
Maybe I should take the time to show it.
Thank you for being the first to comment on this article, sis @saffisara!

This was such a beautiful walk! I love historically correct architecture, one that has kept the same lines and features as it was built with. What a charming neighborhood this is. The wrought iron fences speak of a more genteel time, a different way of life.

The rose trees are some of the most amazing specimens I have ever seen! I have to admit, I am more drawn to the yellow rose than the red, although both are stunning! The yellow allows my eye to take in more depth and contrast, the red is so saturated in its natural state. But, don't get me wrong! I love them!!

I love this post so much! xoxo

Hello @dswigle!!!
I was Market Friday yesterday and no market to show you, but I have this walk I took the other day!
I must admit, the yellow ones are so attractive. It was deep yellow! The owners take pride even in their front yard, although this area is public land, they landscaped it. Did you notice the tiny pebbles by the roots of the tree?
I glad you like it, sweet @dswigle!

I think it was incredibly beautiful!

I have the same thing with my property. The sidewalk seperates my property from mine and the public land, but, I planted Cherry Trees on it. If I lived in a milder climate, I would have put something like the roses, because ... roses!!!

No worries about #MarketFriday, life is hard enough right now for some without worrying about things like that. If it happens upon you, nice! If not, there are plenty of them to read! :)) Love to you, my sweet friend! I hope you have a great day.

I am still in love with those yellow roses!

These pictures are just lovely and your town looks beautiful and serene. I appreciate that you have lots of trees and plants around the houses. Very good for the environment. Those roses are beautiful. Can I have a bunch? 😄

I hope to take a shot of an entire street to show a sampling of the different homes.
But is impossible... not with my camera phone anyway, hehehe!
American Roses are very popular in this area!

Thanks for checking out this article, @kemmyb.
It's a pleasure to have you!

Much Love and attention these homeowners give to not only their home but also their landscaping! So beautiful @silversaver888, I could spend the day just walking through this neighborhood😍😍😀

You can tell, huh?
Well, all of the homes here receive love and attention from the homeowners.
I bet they have a higher maintenance cost. They painstakingly maintain the homes with paint, among others.
Yes, this area would be a great place to walk, @silvertop 😀.

Years ago, I grew roses when we lived in Ohio. They were just beautiful! I've never heard of a tree rose, so my question is this: Are they groomed to be a tree, like a Bonsai, or is this a special variety of rose? Do they have a rich and heady fragrance? They sure look like they would. They are very beautiful. Thanks for sharing sis!🤗😘🌸💕

Aren't the Tree Roses magnificent? They are created by budding three shrubs on a stem that gives it the dramatic effect. It has a bushy growth and beautiful, fragrant flowers. They are usually made from English Roses! I think I will plant one!!!
Enjoy the day, and Hugs and Kisses, sis @elizabethbit 🥰🌺🤙!!!

You Town certainly has a quaint character to it with it's period architecture and unique public horticulture, such beautiful flowers such that the public could enjoy. Meanwhile my suburbia was still a stand of conifer trees.

Always, with love 🤗 🌺 ❤️

Our Church is located on this side of town on one of the streets, so I'm sure to be here at least once a week.
Someday I'll show you the homes around the Church too.

Hugs and Kisses sis 🥰🌺🤙!!

I really loved seeing the beautifully and much loved restored homes in the gorgeous streets @silversaver888. Am I right in thinking that the house owners are keen rose growers as well?
