Stepping Aside

It takes a considerable amount of maturity for one to realize that they can welcome someone's idea and opinion without agreeing to them. By welcoming it, you only want peace to reign and it's just a means of "agreeing to disagree". A point may come in your life when you just have to let things go and you just step aside. Not necessarily because you do not have what to do but because you may not like the result that will come from the action. Always remember that if you cannot welcome the result of an action, then do not initiate the action in the first place.

In an argument, for example, you may willingly choose to lose the argument instead of to win the argument but lose something bigger, like your friendship. By doing that, you have not really lost the argument in the real sense, you just sacrificed the combat to win the war. Some wars are better won on the platform of losing the initial combat.

As you grow older and wiser, you will realize that you do not have to struggle to be right all the time. I mean, what is the point of always being right and at the end of the day losing friends and becoming lonely? Each time you are faced with the choice of becoming right or becoming happy, you will understand that becoming right may not be what you need at that point but happiness. Cos the choice you take at that moment will be what you will live with for long.

Most times, being right (especially in an argument) is mutually exclusive to being nice. What this means is, most times, struggling to be right may hamper your niceness which will ultimately hamper your long-term happiness. No doubt, some level of happiness may arise from being right but they are almost always short-lived because in the long run, you may lose what you think brought you happiness. Humanity does not need you to struggle towards being right or being perfect but towards being nice.

Just like I stated earlier, it is much better (in the long-term) to lose certain combats so as to have a walk-over to win the bigger war than to fight with your might to win the combat but lose the bigger and ultimate war; the war on humanity.

Anytime your acts of kindness, goodness and niceness will be affected by your actions of being right, then for the sake of humanity, you need to step aside from being right. For example, some people believe the right thing to repay evil with is another evil but is that a nice thing to do? If you pay someone evil with another evil, how does that action make you to feel? Not just you, does your action erase the initial evil that has been done? But paying evil with good will prove that you are better and you'll win at the end.

Thanks for reading

Peace on y'all
