Buildings In The Financial District
Welcome to #SublimeSunday, a tag presenting you with the unique opportunity to post something a bit different, wacky, crazy or just whatever takes your fancy, initiated by @c0ff33a ☕️

I was meeting a couple of friends for dinner at the financial district last week. This section of 'concrete jungle' in downtown Singapore awed me. Some of the buildings are quite futuristic looking and have been seen is dramas like 'West World'. To be fair, I heard that from a friend because I haven't watch 'West World' myself.
One also get the feeling of dwarfed and hemmed in by the buildings. It can be quite an uncomfortable feeling for some.
Anyway, here are some of the pictures I took that day. All the buildings have names. But I can't name any of them. I don't have any business in the financial district, and I have never hang out in the financial district. So, I really don't know any of the buildings except maybe one or two I saw and heard on the news.
At night the buildings take on a different look. Unfortunately, there is only so much a phone camera can do.

Actually, I find the downtown area a good walk area in the weekend but I wonder if the Lau Pa Sat has much to offer during weekend nowadays.
I have never been to Lau Pa Sut on the weekends. My first and only experience at the Lau Pa Sut didn't give me a good impression of the food there. 😊
It's a battle zone for seats during lunch time on weekdays pre-pandemic times. I suspect that's the place tissue paper reservation of seats started. If not, then probably Golden Shoe.
Ha. That's interesting to know - about where tissue paper reservation of seats started. I have never heard of Golden Shoe.
It's just my speculation. Golden Shoe used to be a building with carpark and a food centre. A lot of the stalls are at Market Street interim food centre.
Anyway, something bad happened at Lau Pa Sat recently
Police are investigating a case of verbal abuse against a safe-distancing officer at Lau Pa Sat last Saturday night, after a video of the exchange was circulated online. https://cna.asia/3tzmsSc
I don't understand how people can be so, so, so... I can't find the word/words to describe them. They are either stupid, or simply rude and ill mannered. They need to be taught a lesson.
