This is a post of #marketfriday initiated by @dswigle.

I like going to a market. There are lots of going on in the market, there are a lot of colors! So, I like going to the market for sightseeing, not really for shopping. I don't really enjoy bargaining for the goods I'd like to buy. Bargaining is the norm when you shop in my place.

So, This Friday, I just tagged along my wife who skillfully bargained with vendors in the market. And I had my chance to take photos.

market-2.jpg The small town called Negara, where the market is located behind these shops. All motor cyles were parked by the street, before the people entered the market.

It was still early in the morning when we went to the market. There were not so many buyers in there, but most of the sellers were already opened.

I took a photo of a lady who was bargaining for a jack fruit with the seller who was sitting on market floor selling vegetables. Young jack fruit were great for soup. Have you tasted it?

Another photo I took is a lady seller who sold flowers, you coconut leaves, banana, papaya, some others. She was preparing religious offering basket made from young coconut leaves and marigold, hydrangeas, and some other flowers. These offerings were also for sale.

I continued walking along the market isle to see more sellers sitting on the floor with their merchandise. Probably those sellers could not afford to rent shops in the market, so they sold their stuff on the floor.

For those people who could afford the shops, they have their merchandise displayed in front of the shops. I saw some dried fish, shallots, spices for sale in shops. There are also people who sold clothes, cakes, and dried food in the shops.

In some section of the market, there are ladies who work as carriers. They earned their living by carrying people stuff from the market to other place, usually to the parking area. Some people buy a lot of things they could not bring themselves so they hire these ladies to bring their stuff to where the park their motorcyle or car.

I managed to take photo of this one carrier lady who was receiving a call on her phone while bringing some eggs on her head. She went in and out of the market with more eggs. Seems like an easy job for her. Could you imagine yourself doing this job? 😁

In other market section there was a group of fish sellers. Our town is quite close to the sea that fish are easily available in this market.

Not far from the fish sellers section, I saw a man selling chickens. He moved from one place to other places inside the market to try to sell his chickens. No one seemed interested in buying his chickens.

Finally after some time, my wife finished her shopping. She bought some vegetables, chicken meat, spices, and few other stuffs. Guess who had to bring all the stuffs she bought? 😁

@putu300 this market look like same setting with most Markets in Nigeria. Some people have their permanent stores while some bring their goods from far and near to sell once they have a space to display their goods
