A Fun Walk in The Bima Statue Park

Hello, everyone. I'd like to share with you my quick visit to the Bima Statue park in my town. I went to this park at the end of my day. I have been going around to different parts of my town during the day, and this was where my trip ended.

There is a walking path around the statue of Bima, and into the lawn in the park. People spend their time sitting by the statue, and some of them walked on the path. I saw some people jogged on the main street nearby. Some were on their pushbikes. I just walked on the walking path while taking photos.

The story of the statue is about the struggle of Bima. He was fighting for a Tirtha Amerta or the elixir of life.

In the story, there was a fight between gods and demons over the elixir of life which located underneath a mountain called Mandara Giri. Using two serpents to tie the mountain, the gods and the demons were able to pull the Mandara Giri off the ground revealing the Tirtha Amertha beneath it. The gods managed to get the elixir of life with Bima on their side.

There was a big pond surrounding the statue, but when I was there, the pond was dried. Obviously, there was a cleaning work in progress by the local government.

I continued walking in along the path across the meadow. There were some trees in the meadows which were decorated with colorful led lights. Every year in August, the town park is decorated with lights, banner, and Indonesian flags. This is for the celebration of Indonesian Independence Day.

I continued walking along the path for some time and took some more photos. And that's how I spent my afternoon. Thanks for stopping by.
