The Lekki Ikoyi link bridge is one of the most popular landmarks of Nigeria's economic capital, Lagos State.

The bridge connects two of the most elite places in Lagos, Lekki and Ikoyi. It is well used in movies and videos to paint a picture of Lagos because of its architectural sleekness and is also a popular jogging stretch for people trying to stay fit.

This quick sketch is my entry to day 4 of the #dailydrawingchallenge with the topic "City". Here's some progress shots...

I started with the sketch using graphite pencils, trying to outline each structure and area to make the shading straightforward

I went on to block in shadows of the pillars and some faded buildings in the distance using charcoal, to establish dynamic range

With a brush and some charcoal powder, I started working on the clouds and the water mass under the bridge...

I established the clouds and water better with more charcoal powder and some graphite pencil strokes, on an on till I was satisfied.
