Every day someone is born and every day someone dies. Some people die on the streets having no history or without people having any memory of them, meaning that they just die like chickens and get forgotten after a while or never remembered at all. As long as there are people like that, there are also people that die but make an enormous impact on the world or some individuals, and we always remember them for their works. They are also valued by generations that have never had physical contact with them, but they cherish them because of their achievements.

Anyone that has a sound mind would want to be remembered even in death. They may not be able to make a world record but would want to make a positive impact on someone’s life.

The question is, how do I make a rare achievement that I could get remembered for? To make any achievement, you need to believe in yourself. What hinders people from making achievements is the lack of self-belief and confidence. Many have all it takes to do something valuable that could change the world or someone’s life positively, but the river of lack of confidence draws all those zeal down.

Personally, the lack of self-confidence has made me lose many opportunities of getting some amazing rewards and other interesting prizes that I can get. Anytime I am about to face such I think of failure and unreasonable questions start coming to my head like, what if I fail? People would mock me and it would be a waste of time. All these bring me to the conclusion of not trying at all, which is all to my detriment.

If you do not believe in yourself, it would be easy for others to sway you from achieving your goals. It takes a strong mindset of focus and self-belief to achieve your dream because oppositions and criticism would surely come, but with these values, you would stay strong.

Many factors hinder people from making some achievements, like discrimination. Discrimination has made many goals and achievements null because some people are being restricted from doing some things, handling some tasks, positions and taking part in some events and programs. Discrimination has worked majorly against females in the sense that they are restricted from participating or enjoying some privileges because people believe that they are weaker vessels or they are not up to the task. Many people might have improved their world today, but they have hindered all their ideas because of discrimination.

I saw this picture of the first woman to complete the Boston marathon race. In this picture, the woman known as Kathrine Switzer in the year 1967 was being opposed by the organizer and didn’t want her to participate in the race. And I asked myself why? But maybe the picture answered the question because I saw other contestants there and they were all males, so maybe the organizer was sceptical about her taking part in the same race that able-bodied men engaged in. However, her fellow contestants seeing how Katherine wanted to participate and tried to support her by pushing away the organizer from her. Katherine eventually participated in the race and broke the record of being the first woman to finish the marathon race in the year 1967.

Katherine believed in herself and that was why she was able to scale through all the oppositions and at last, she broke the record and made an achievement that she lived to remember. Someone like me wasn’t born at that time, but now I can hear and read about her.

People have to learn to believe in themselves and have courage. No one is incapable of achieving any goal. All you need to do is just to be focused. Never talk yourself out and never let people decide your destiny. Katherine was a good example. Stay safe and live right guys.

Thanks for reading guys.
