Disaster Alert Taruna (Tagana) is a social worker who is a mainstay for the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in dealing with and dealing with disasters, they have an important role, Tagana's position remains as a frontliner in disaster management, both natural and social, as it is now, so that this proves how important the role of Tagana.

In Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, Tagana has 75 members spread over 17 Sub-Districts. Tagana Bireuen is currently helping to reduce the risk of a pandemic impact from the Corona virus, as long as the outbreak is infected worldwide. Tagana Bireuen during the Corona virus pandemic has carried out its social work by spraying disinfectants at several points, they also distributed logistics material assistance to the Bireuen community affected by the Corona virus and also served patients in quarantine monitoring at the Bireuen Quarantine Building with managing public kitchens for patients.

Besides being involved in the Corona virus pandemic, they are also involved in dealing with disaster issues, both natural disasters and social disasters. When viewed from a general eye, Tagana Bireuen has helped victims of natural disasters such as floods, strong winds, earthquakes and landslides. They also participated in the handling of Rohingya refugees who arrived in Bireuen last year. Tagana Bireuen also played an active role in the management of the fire disaster, they opened and managed a public kitchen for the victims of the displaced fire disaster, this was done in the case of a large fire that burned down the residents' homes and there was a refuge point at the scene.

In handling natural disasters in Bireuen, Tagana Bireuen helps Bireuen Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in various ways, for example they come down directly to the location when natural disasters occur, they also channel panic assistance and conduct special handling for victims of natural disasters who experience trauma.

In addition they also participated in various social activities organized by the local government as well as various community organizations and elements, activities such as mutual cooperation, protecting nature and educating them on disasters for school students. Their concrete actions in disaster management in Bireuen have greatly helped the community, the presence of Tagana Bireuen at the forefront of the problem deserves extraordinary appreciation.

At present they have 75 members who are ready to carry out their duties swiftly and responsively, all Tagana Bireuen members have attended basic training in the field of natural and social disaster management. They also have special expertise in dealing with the problem, even the Tagana Bireuen members consist of Tagana Muda and Tagana Madya. Each Tagana Bireuen member has also participated in stabilization and gazing.

Tagana Bireuen members have their respective expertise such as Water Rescue, Vertical Rescue, Shelter, Humanitarian, Logistics and so on. They also participated in the response to the earthquake in Aceh Tengah, Pidie and Pidie Jaya several years ago which were designated as National Disasters in Indonesia at that time.

When the Rohingya refugees arrived in Bireuen they also participated in handling refugees for one year, in collaboration with the Bireuen Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as well as several government agencies and other organizations, they provided the best service for 79 souls of Rohingya Muslims at that time. In addition to taking care of the needs of refugees they also provide educational services for Rohingya refugees.

The presence of Tagana Bireuen is certainly very helpful to the local government in disaster management.
