FRÍO DE OTOÑO | COLD AUTUMN

No es tan sencillo para alguien que ha vivido toda su vida en un clima cálido y lleno de vida como el de mi tierra. Maracaibo se ha caracterizado por tener un clima bien cálido
cuyas temperaturas oscilan entre los 24º en la mínima y 35º la máxima, aunque ha sobrepasado en ocasiones los 40º de temperatura.

It is not so easy for someone who has lived all his life in a warm and lively climate like that of my land. Maracaibo has been characterized by having a very warm climate whose temperatures oscillate between 24º in the minimum and 35º the maximum, although it has occasionally exceeded 40º in temperature.

Justo hoy, al salir para despedir a mi esposa que va a su trabajo, hallé que había ese frío que antes había padecido cuando llegué a Chile. Las manos se entumecen y parece que todo comienza a moverse en cámara lenta, lol.

Just today, when I left to say goodbye to my wife who goes to work, I found that there was that cold that I had suffered before when I arrived in Chile. Hands get numb and it seems like everything starts moving in slow motion, lol.

Mi sorpresa, aunque aún no debería estar ocurriendo, puesto que es otoño, es que a pesar del sol y de una hermosa mañana, había hielo en algunas superficies. Dije dentro de mí: A mi esposa no le gustará esto. A ella le pega mucho el frío y seguramente cuando regrese, se quejará conmigo de haberse venido a vivir a Chile, cuando en nuestra ciudad natal, podemos estar con el mejor clima para estar relajados a cualquier hora del día o de la noche.

My surprise, although it should not be happening yet since it is autumn, is that despite the sun and the beautiful morning, there was ice on some surfaces. I said to myself, "My wife is not going to like this." She suffers a lot from the cold and surely when she returns, she will complain to me for coming to live in Chile, when in our hometown, we can be in the best climate to be relaxed at any time of the day or night.

En lo particular, me gusta el frío, pero no al extremo. Solo imagino como la debe estar pasando una paisana que vive más al sur, en la región del magallanes, donde las temperaturas, bajan aún más.

I especially like the cold, but not to the extreme. I can only imagine how a countrywoman who lives further south, in the Magallanes region, where the temperatures drop even further, must pass.

¿Quejarme yo? ¡Jamás! He aprendido a disfrutar cada momento de mi vida, sin importar las circunstacias por las que pueda pasar, repitiéndome siempre las siguientes palabras: Al mal tiempo, buena cara.

Do I complain? Never! I have learned to enjoy every moment of my life, regardless of the circumstances I go through, always repeating the following words: in bad weather, good face.
