Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 6:23

The above Bible passages explain that parent, guidance, foster father and mother are to train up. Not left alone to biological parents but teachers, and religion leaders are to become an example for the upcoming generation to follow, but it saddens my heart that the legacy most political leaders are leaving behind are dangerous path for the generation coming to follow.

Last week when I was reading through the tribune newspaper, I saw an headline that reads "Too much screen time can affect children's brain ". That caught my attention and I read with kneel interest through the page. Screen time has become an integral part of children this season of covid-19 pandemic knockdown. A recent research shows that such technology could pose special challenge to the brain of young people, including those in pre-school age group.

Children this days have been known to be prone with mobile screen such as smartphone, iPad, tablet which can help a child build social bond as such as their are much online schooling to help a child. Despite all this, it's not a guarantee that a child knows how, when to use this device.

Recent reports has shown how poor most mobile phones devices which have poor screen which has shown such technology could pose special challenges for young brain of preschool age.

A research carried out in Canada Linked high level of screen time with delayed development in children, saying that childrwn who spend more time with screen at two years of age did worse on test than children who spend less time.

A research from the University of Waterloo, university of Calgary and Albert children's hospital research institute did a research on children between the age of two, three and five. Mothers where ask to record how much time their child spend using screen including time for TV, computer qnd other devices. A standard questionnaires to assess their child's development. children who reported spend more than two hours a day on screen time get lower score on thinking and language test. Watching TV or playing video games to fill up the void isn't the solution. The problem is the long effect it has on the toddler which could be measured in the children dietary habit weight, and behavior as teenagers.
The research hypothesised that when a toddler watch too much TV it encourages them to be sedentary, and if they learn to prefer effortless leisure activities at a very young age, they likely won't think of non-leisure ones, like school when they are older. To be continued.
