Hello Hivers πŸ’• Making a dress for kids isn't an easy task at all, firstly they wont submit themselves to be measured and you will have to use your IQ to make sure the dress is well fitted and really look nice on them.

In view of this, there will be confusion like, I don't want the neck to be too big and at the same time it has to enter his head, the armhole should not be too big and all. But paying attention to all this I was able to get the dress perfectly done and the mother of the baby was so happy cause it fits her child.

Below are the process:

Sample material was used for the dress, with a touch of back as the collar and the taping.

CUTTING PROCESS

This is the most difficult process in sewing for kids ranging from 6 months to 7years.IQ really needed.

Without taking the measurements, had to use my head to determine that,
For shoulder I used 7inches, Chest 22inches, armhole 5inches, length 14inches, sleeve 5inches, waist 20inches, length 16inches. And the neck 1.5 by 2 inches. Then I cut adding much allowances cause babies outgrown dress quickly.

After cutting then I begin to sew

After sewing the allowances added to the length, both sleeve and body, then I joined the shoulders and fixed the collar
