Thank you @alexanderfluke for this great idea to recall the year which passed. It was different but yet it was a year of our lives with good and bad days. So, this is my year 2020.

JANUARY

I started the year 2020 in Finland in the company of my friends, a family who live in the west of the country, in the beautiful countryside. We walked a lot and talked a lot - much better than chatting online.

Then the school started after the holidays. It was prettily decorated for Christmas, especially the entrance looked so beautiful that its decorations pleased our eyes all the winter time.

FEBRUARY

Saint Petersburg in Russia is the city of my student time, many memories are connected with it. For me, it is the best city in the world. One of my friends has the same passion, a we used to always have valid visas to go there quite often (what nice time that was!)

We spent days wandering around our favourite places but every evening was for the theater.

MARCH - APRIL - MAY

These months passed nearly like one day. School - with all the muddle of the first weeks of pandemic, learning to teach online from home with any minimal positive result for the children first and then trying to be efficient... There would be nothing special to remember from those months having stay inside if not the main event of the year (for me, of course).

A very significant event in May - my son turns 40!

JUNE

The last days of existing of our old school building - we were taking pictures to remember the school and then packing the stuff...

The building is now destroyed, and the new one is going to be built in two years. Probably 🙁

Then HAPPINESS! - summer holidays and a MIRACLE - Cyprus is open for tourists!

IMG_20200704_163245.jpg

It was a paradise after rainy and cool Estonia.
In Cyprus I found a nice place to stay with a landlady who became my very good friend since then.

I love you and your friendly family, dear Christine, @pandamama! Thank you, Jack, for the nice photo!

JULY
Fantastic time in Cyprus with warm sea and nearly empty beaches.

IMG_20200728_154351.jpg

Cosy breakfasts on the balcony and swimming under the moon.

IMG_20200810_073608.jpg
The lighs from the beach restaurant coloured me pink and robbed me of my eyes, sorry. 😁

In the end of July my English friend Chris, who lived in Cyprus and was my good friend for many years, celebrated his birthday, the last birthday in his life... He left us in the beginning of this new year. He looked happy that day. I am glad he had that special day and did not feel lonely. Blessed memory of you, my dear friend.

Lovely days in Cyprus with Christine and with Chris.

Saying goodbye to my dear friends from Cyprus, and my not easy way home - luckily avoiding isolation on arrival.

IMG_20200815_201154.jpg

Some pleasant walks in the forest in the rest of the days before school started.

SEPTEMBER

School, school, school... The routine but I love my job and my children.

IMG_20200901_101823.jpg

Happy days when my friends from Finland were visiting me.

OCTOBER

My birthday. I became 65 - can't say I am happy to be so young 😁 but must live with it.
My schoolchildren and my friends made me feel happy on my birthday.

But the best gift was from my son who came from Tallin and took me to a fabulous Wellness Centre and then to a restaurant - for the whole day!

NOVEMBER

School, school, school again... distant or contact teaching, or even all together, when a part of a class are sitting in front of you, in the classroom, and some of them take part in this lesson online.

DECEMBER

Teaching, relaxation, and the same again, and, at last, - Christmas! The town Christmas Tree in lights, streets nicely decorated. Nice time!

Preparations at school...

IMG_20201209_105020.jpg

... And at home

Thank you for the gift!
