Once Upon A Moon.
Once upon a moon with shining stars
mother nature spoke with me
with the language of nature,
with thunders and lightning.
As she opened her mouth
with pent up emotions threatening to break loose,
the lightning lit up my face
like it brought the spotlight on me
and linked it with the tall iroko tree beside me.
Is she trying to tell me I am like the iroko tree?
I wonder but I am not sure.
Thunder struck like it was confirming my thoughts.
Cold gushes through me
like I have been possessed by a heavenly being.
Once upon a moon with velvet sky,
I wished upon mother nature
that she would bring peace upon my soul,
happiness to my life
and stillness to the storm in my life...
Once upon a moon
I hope I can look back to who I used to be
and be grateful to God
that I made it this far despite the troubles and travails...
