So two days ago I was asked why I wasn't a dolphin yet and my answer was 'never'. I thought about writing a detailed response as to why that's not possible at this time given my situation and the pandemic but I decided to end that discussion with 'never' because first of all, I do not owe anyone any explanation as to how I use my hard-earned hive--especially not the person asking. So 'never' was a more appropriate response. It is my goal to someday become a dolphin but currently, there are more important things than that and I cannot forgo them for an insignificant status on the chain. Yes, I do understand the importance of a strong middle class on the chain but it is not an easy feat--nothing is easy actually.

Are you one of those people who are overly concerned about how people are using their hive? Well, you shouldn't be if they're doing what everyone is doing to earn them and that's creating content. To frank, creating content isn't doing much for the ecosystem/blockchain as there are very few person's consuming it. The average content creator here doesn't get past 50 views which is very, very insignificant in the social media sphere. So you and I are profiting from doing subpar work or marketing for our content and services. Most importantly, it has little or no impact on the growth of the blockchain.

HOW DO YOU COMPENSATE FOR ALL YOU'RE EARNING?

Now, this isn't mandatory, not everyone has the stomach for it. For most people, they just want to earn from their content and be done with this place. However, there is a group of us who love and appreciate the support we've gonna here as content creators and have achieved significant things on the chain, knowing fully well that we may never have achieved such feats elsewhere, and in return, we do our best to promote the blockchain and support important projects and campaigns. Hive growth depends a lot kn these awareness campaigns to bring value and people to our chain. For those who aren't willing or able to participate in such campaigns, the least they can do create good content and support community development on the blockchain.

I have spoken in the past about the need for more conscious community developments which goes behold supporting quality contents but also direct people's creative energy and fostering better engagement amongst community members. This can only happen when a said community has a specific goal and identity.

Everyone here is important to the development of the chain--everyone doing something positive either by creating, contribution or building. I like to remind all of us that whatever we are trying to build here isn't going to be easy. I believe everyone should have gotten the memo by now. For everyone who has tried to create anything on here, you can attest to how difficult it is to even get fellow community members to participate in a project, talk less about strangers who have no affiliation with the blockchain. My empathy for builders has grown significantly ever since I began projects of my own. It has been an awesome learning curve and I am grateful for the experience.

Seeing hive thrive will be a personal accomplishment for me because I have been here from the very beginning. My voice and those of passionate community members birthed this platform and gave it substance (credit also to the developers as well). When I talk about being a stakeholder I am not only talking about my vested token but also my vested interest in the blockchain. I have put a significant part of my time and creative here so it is very important to me. I don't know how best to explain this but hive is an important part of my life and I do want to see it thrive.

So I will like to hear from you guys: What ways are you contributing to the growth of the hive blockchain in the comment section.

I'm contributing by making content, Specifically livestreaming games on vimm.tv and I also consume a decent amount of content too. I do a lot of advertise my streams which in turn helps promote vimm and hive. I also try to engage a lot by commenting a lot.

"Making content" would be my go-to answer as well.

As for me, I've dreamt of supporting other content creators with rewards on the chain. But as the case may be for now, it seems that might not be something that might happen in the next 4 to 5 years, because I have little or no investment on the chain. But it's my wish to support contents creator on the chain if I ever get the chance to.

So for now, my only best way to contribute and in which I have been contributing to Hive has been creating valuable contents and spreading the word about Hive. And also utilizing my Hive rewards often, most especially by purchasing valuable commodities and bragging about it that I purchased it with my earnings on Hive 😆. And I think that's fair enough.

Just as you've said nobody should be bothered about how anyone is utilizing or "spending" his or her hard earn Hive earning, most especially as a content creator. Thanks for speaking on this beautiful topic. Its definitely worth a reblog.

re-blogged :D

The way I contribute to the hive blockchain is onboarding new users and mentoring them through the blockchain.

I also try to create good and helpful contents.

You are right about the point that nobody deserve an explanation on how you grow in Hive. My reason is they are not living the same life you are living so they don't know the struggle you face in real life.

If my life is less of a struggle then my focus will be optimal towards my growth on Hive.

This is really a nice topic for discussion.

Thanks for sharing 🤗👍
