As some of you guys already know, I am huge on earning doing the things you love. Whether it be writing or gaming or even socialising, if you enjoy it then you should earn from it period! These centralised entities earn so much from our activities and it is only fair we earn a piece of that pie. That's why I support blockchain technology as one of its major features is value distribution.

Another thing I am becoming keenly interested in is gaming. I play a lot of mobile games and my favourite board games online. It has connected we people and improved my gameplay.

In this part of the world, there is a lot of negativity attached to gaming. I remember my parents chastising me for playing the super Nintendo they bought for me, how ironic. In many African households, it is seen as a wasteful activity unfitting for adults. Africa aside, there are still many people who have a negative view of games. I have been going back and forth with some lady on twitter about this gaming issue which hasn't been fruitful. The thing is I get triggered when people trivialise the gaming industry. No talks negatively about people enjoying other forms of entertainment like watching movies or listening to music. I think this is directly linked to our preconceived notion of what gaming is which is influenced by what our parents have connotated it be and we carry this negative view into our adult life. Gaming is also seen as a masculine thing and this explains the reason why most women don't consider it to be fun or important. I have come across a lot of funny tweets about this week about the launching of the PlayStation new console and ladies getting their significant half one.

For most of us on the hive ecosystem, splinterland has been one of the profitable activities on the chain--more than posting on a regular basis I dare say. At some point, my splinterland holdings were more than my hive stake because it was such an exciting thing to do and I hope to go back to those days.

Gaming is an important part of our ecosystem and should be looked into deeply as a means of deepening the social interaction between gamers on the ecosystem. I have met some amazing people playing Call of Duty Mobile. I have also been introduced to an amazing community on YouTube. 7/10 videos I watch on YouTube are Call of Duty related.

Gaming connects people.

We do have a strong community around splintered but I am also hoping to see more active communities around popular games like Fortnite and the likes because there are existing communities build around these games and having a safe haven where people can talk about their favourite games, stream and earn is quite attractive and almost effortless. There are over 2 billion gamers worldwide. Imagine have a tiny fraction of that on hive. I really strongly believe we will do better as a gaming platform. However, the resources required to run those types of servers for multi-player games are worth pricey.

I will like to see a lot of resources go into creating a strong gaming community and attracting gamers here to share their gaming experience on our social platforms and also play our games as well. If we have more gaming products to sell it will do good for our economy. Unlike social media, most games require in-app purchases or several activities to earn points to enable you to play and buy things on the game. We can leverage on that

Asides creating games and gaming communities, I wonder how possible it is to have our coin as a currency on a popular game. Take for example fornite. If hive becomes the official coin of fornite that will be massive. I don't know how possible that is but it sure will increase the demand for the hive token. These are some of the types of moves I hope we would take to improving and increase the use case of hive. Personally, I don't think it's so important having people build so much on the blockchain. If they can integrate part of it into their system it will be great and reduce the demand in the blockchain

I came across this video that talks about the potential of the blockchain technology and the gaming industry combined. Enjoy

Have you played axie infinity? I’m not a gamer at all but love it (and you earn from it)! Maybe it the game to play if you’re not a gamer?
