I do feel even manual upvote as an engagement. Because that person like what he consumed.
Engagement > Comments > Upvotes

Thanks for the awesome comment. It is really important to understand the difference between comment and engagement.
I ended it that way because it's definitely one thing I noticed when I first started out on the platform and was getting frustrated by the lack of upvotes. I thought I was putting in more effort than everyone else on the platform only to realize I was putting in a lot of effort, but others (such as yourself) were putting in much more time and effort than I was.
