Hello Hiveians

Am not too sure if this content about genotype and health issues matters to hive blog but one or two persons may find this important as our health is as important asn any other creative talented and educating contents we have seen on the blog.
Is it possible for everyone in Nigerian to get tested and know their genotype? I believe this is a crucial matter because it will make everyone know their stand when it comes to marriage and what partners they can be married to.
The same way multiple test is carried out for covid-19 to curb the spread this could have been easier too if everyone know their genotype
We are campaigning and advocating that everyone should know their genotype

So in preparation for the big event on Saturdays where we will be conducting free genotype test for 1000 persons in Ilorin Kwara state we had a meeting yesterday evening towards this.

After posting fliers and soliciting for funds, we got medical supplies and the kits for genotype test as far as from the US, donors from across the country contributed little tokens from 500 naira upward that could be used to test an individual and we have a target of at least 1000000 (one million naira) to get at least 1000 I individuals tested for free.
We all got different volunteering roles to play as we underwent training while waiting for the volunteering medical laboratory scientist

Nigeria has the highest number of people living with sickle cell in the world. With an estimated 150,000 born annually witht he disorder out or the 300,000 births recorded Annually.

This is largely due to ignorance, religious beliefs, love and sometimes poverty.

At Pearls Sickle Cell Initiative, We are dedicated to bringing the number to zero starting from Kwara State. And annually, we offer free genotype test to youths and teenagers.

This year, we are doing it differently. It's bigger and better! This year, we are offering free genotype test to 1000 individuals!!!!

This is open to youths and teenagers who
i : Have taken a genotype test before and would love to re confirm?

ii. Youths and teenagers who have never taken a genotype test?

iii. Individuals Ages 12 and above.

AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!!!!!!!
