Want even better HIVE distribution...? Then do your part.

A couple of days ago, I made a post celebrating the reach of a personal goal I had set for myself ever since I became part of the Steem family back in January 2018. And that was reaching the "orca" status before the end of 2020.

To be honest with you I didn't expect people to care. I mean we often see these kind of posts left and right from people who are celebrating all kinds of stuff...A unique card while playing Splinterlands, or, their latest tweet that went viral...and so on, right?

WRONG.

That particular post has almost 100 comments from people who just read the title of the post and dropped by to say bravo. I couldn't believe it. Really. Thank you all.

What that means is that people around here DO care...and you know why?

Because we are still really few compared to Hive's potential. That way we build stronger bonds with each other by the day.

Consider yourselves lucky...for three reasons.

A)We are Hive's really early adopters. In a couple of years people will talk about you the very same way you talk about those who were privileged enough to be part of the Steem network during the early days of 2016. Mark my words.

B)Because unless there were people like Blocktrades and all those brave witnesses and devs who had been working on this for quite some time, when they felt that Justin's threats were 100% real, you / we wouldn't be here now. So every HIVE token you are holding is a bonus. But people usually don't appreciate as they should what was given to them...for FREE. So treat your Hive tokens with respect.

C)And finally because you have the chance to purchase HIVE tokens at a great discount from the exchanges. You should hurry up though...it's just a matter of time before HIVE outperforms STEEM if you ask me.

With that said, the reason I am writing these lines isn't to brag about my accomplishment, but to motivate others to grow their accounts the very same way I and many others did since Hive launched.

I know that many of you are patiently waiting their weekly payment from their STEEM powerdowns and convert it to HIVE, which is great.

Yet not everyone is willing to kill their STEEM investment at these low prices. Remember...people kept investing in STEEM while its price was at .50$...1$...3$...

Want even better HIVE distribution...?

...then go out there and buy some HIVE while it is still cheap. Put your money where your mouth is. Don't just talk the talk...but also walk the walk.

Don't expect everything from whales and bots...do your part. By growing your accounts you instantly help towards an even better distribution model.

I've seen some great initiatives run by Dan and Blocktrades week after week and while my upvote value is nowhere near to theirs, I've decided to:

Give a 50% upvote to every user that will make a post providing proof that they purchased HIVE from the open markets and reached minnow status --> 500 HP.

Give a 75% upvote to every user that will make a post providing proof that they purchased HIVE from the open markets and reached dolphin status --> 5000 HP

Give a 100% upvote to every user that will make a post providing proof that they purchased HIVE from the open markets and reached orca status --> 50000 HP

Whales don't need support...so they are excluded. Ha!

You can drop the links of your posts to the comment section of this post, till this post pays out.

PS. Don't expect to become rich or anything of the sort...after all my upvote is just a few cents.

PS2. Whales / orcas are more than welcomed to jump in and give me a hand.

PS3. Don't hesitate to celebrate your achievement on Twitter. The more eyeballs on Hive and our community the better. You could use tags such as #newminnows #newdolphins #neworcas.

That's all fellas. Give me reasons to drain my VP will ya?

Wanna see Hive thrive? Then do your part :)

Have a good one...and stay safe.

Cheers.

I wrote something similar the other day.

https://hive.blog/blog/@practicalthought/the-value-of-community

I had bought into Steem (not much) when it was over 2.00 and again over 1.00. Started my power down on Steem and been converting. I finally figured out how to access my Binance coins and snatched up another 2K+ of Hive and am over halfway to Dolphin.

Not going to type my whole post here, but yes. If we expect others to value what we have here, WE need to value what we have here.

Resteemed.

I will only continue with what I have so far and I don't plan to buy more on the free market!

Well, that's an option too.

I guess it comes down to whether you believe a lot in a project or not.

I don't concentrate on one project, even Hive can fail if developers don't work together with new stuff here.

...I trade my hive upvotes amounts, then give 50% back - of any profits back to my supporters/followers (used to be on steem of course)
(7 weeks so far, no losses).

Then you have idiots down voting me, like bloom (55 hive valaue of down votes in 2 weeks)
This takes away buying hive for my trades!
(the down votes are personal - he down votes everything I post and comment on)
This is not the conventional approach to grow hive, but it is my way.
The toxic behaviors of idiots like bloom are one of the biggest negatives to this place growing, imo.

I don't mind taking the hit (it prevents him picking on new people he disagrees with),but even for me - it doesn't make it a more attractive place to invest my time (and money)

Isn't there a way to sort it out?

How? he down votes everything and will not engage. He's a total dick.
He's driven people off the platform, and has attacked me previously (many times).

he never posts to downvote him, he does nothing excpet create a negative atmosphere.
A way to sort it out?
Being able to decline rewards from a specific user would be a good idea..
If that was the case, I would give some hive myself to users, to avoid accepting his upvotes. No curation rewards that way...

He's a total dick.

lol Why he started downvoting you in the first place?

2 years ago - because I was making some NPC humorous mem's. The he went elsewhere.(after being warned off by someone with a serious amount of SP

Then he came back and is now down voting everything I post.(and comment on)
He's a SJW moron, and a bully. He's driven people of this platform, they just got fed up of him.

Good point about the timing of this stuff...

If you believe in HIVE and have started powering down Steem, you basically get free crypto to buy HIVE with....Like you mentioned, this is similar to the same 'early adopters' Steem had with those massive upvotes etc...

So yeah, I'd say we're pretty lucky to be here right now for sure :)

It's up to us how things will play out from now on. That's what most people don't understand. We can turn this place into a circus or the most attractive destination on the Internet
