My "Hello" Story | A New Cover Is Coming!

Hello, Dear Hivers | Hola, Queridos Hivers

My father is not much a music man, he does like music but it’s really weird to find him listening to it just because, and when you do guess what he is listening…

No, not @manujune, he rather listens to his platonic love, Adele.

Years ago he printed the lyrics of many of her song for me to learn them, and I meant to learn them in the same order he printed them, so I began with “Hello”.

After many “hello from the other SIIIIIIIIIIDe”’s, I began to learn “Send my Love”, but I got distracted by kids stuff and forgot Adele…. Until now.

I’ve been pleasing so many friends singing songs they ask me, and I thought it would be a great idea to finally indulge my dad with an Adele song, and since he’s my dad and I love him, I wanted it to be special, so I asked my friend, @edwardstobia, who has all the equipment to record audio of good quality, the favor of producing the recording.

We went to his place and spent the whole morning recording the audio. It was real fun, because I learned some stuff of audio edition and laughed a lot of my untuned notes, haha. It was a bit draggy to record the same part dozens of times because I untuned, but it was worth it. Thanks to that we finished recording at 1:30 pm, but the buses were working until 2 pm, so we agreed to leaving the filming for the next day and left.

Later that day, my friend told me he had a friend, @davidsuarezms , who had a camera and was (well, is) very good at filmimg and that he was going to ask him to film me (SO CUTE!), and of course I accepted his generosity.

On Saturday I woke up at 5:30 am, made some coffee, got dressed, prepared a backpack and at 6:40 woke up my parents. We left at about 7:30. (The meeting was supposed to be at 9, HAHAHA).

We arrived, I checked some things in the audio with Ed, then his friend arrived and my stomach turned against me. I’m TOO shy, and acting while I sing is something that only happens when I’m alone or with my mother, so I was afraid I could mess it up (Thank god, I didn’t… or so they told me).

I thought it was going to be something normal: just one take, with a black curtain behind me, like the last time I recorded with Ed, but then I saw they begun to take everything out (the microphone, the chair, etc.) and I, um, I sort of freaked out, hehe.

They were acting like profesionals looking where it would be better to film, the takes they were going to do, etc. and I was just nervous, I mean, all of that was new to me, and all I hoped was that I didn’t forget the lyrics, hahaha. After the first 2 takes I began to feel a bit normal (I think he made 4 different takes).

It was really fun to do that. I’m really grateful with both of them and I can’t wait to see the result!
