Jesus Christ Superstar is an American film directed by Norman Jewison in 1973 and is based on the musical of the same name, by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. This is a work that is still alive and is the already known story of the messiah, but has an important difference, the cinema dared with this story in a musical version.
This opera, staged on Broadway and full of rock 'n' roll, narrates the last days of the son of God from the point of view of Judas Iscariot, the man who betrayed him.
I am a music lover and I see this film as an innovative work since it mixes rock with the musical genre and is well worth seeing.

En este film Jesús es un hombre destrozado, que escucha voces, tiene visiones hiperrealistas del Diablo, que se le aparece en distintas formas, sean de animales o humanas, y que llega hasta objetar la decisión de Dios de hacerlo fallecer en la Cruz. Cristo, entonces, duda en completar el sacrificio para así traer la salvación a la humanidad. Aquí Jesús es un hombre, antes que una deidad o Ser superior, profundamente angustiado y lleno de dudas acerca de cuál es el rol que cumple en su vida.
La banda musical es de Peter Gabriel, que combina sonidos ancestrales con instrumentos orientales y actuales, creando siempre una atmósfera cautivante, junto a la iluminación de Michael Ballhaus. Esta producción cinematográfica es extraordinaria no dejen de verla.
This Scorsese's film caused a lot of controversy, the coldness with which this story was treated, managed to divide the public between fans and critics.
In this film Jesus is a broken man, who hears voices, has hyper-realistic visions of the Devil, who appears to him in different forms, whether animal or human, and who even objects to God's decision to make him die on the Cross. Christ, then, hesitates to complete the sacrifice in order to bring salvation to mankind. Here Jesus is a man, rather than a deity or superior Being, deeply distressed and full of doubts about his role in life.
The musical score is by Peter Gabriel, who combines ancestral sounds with oriental and modern instruments, always creating a captivating atmosphere, along with the lighting by Michael Ballhaus. This film production is extraordinary and a must see.

Esto es cine atemporal, de este filme es un espectáculo del genero épico y cada minuto tiene su función y sentido es una historia poderosísima, llena de matices, detalles y significado. Odio, amor, venganza, perdón, misericordia, esperanza, fe. Totalmente conmovedora, película de las que llegan. Tres horas recibiendo sentimientos y sensaciones, que transmiten unos actores todos magníficos, expresivos y desbordados en sentimiento, sobre todo de Charlton Heston.
La recreación de la Roma de época me parece estupenda y la mezcla de elementos como traición, amistad, rencor o esclavitud, han convertido esta película en una leyenda.
Tiene una escena sorprendente la carrera de cuadrigas.
