Attabad Lake is situated in Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan. Attabad Lake was created in 2010 as a result of a massive landslide at Attabad Village. The landslide blocked the flow of the Hunza River for five months. The landslide also destroyed over 19 kilometres of the Karakoram Highway road section. The lake reached 21 kilometres long and over 100 metres in depth. Many villages submerged and thousands of people were affected. You can see this disaster's impact during visit to Attabad as road submerged in lake is still visible.

Wow great to know about such an amazing place. Always love to visit hilly areas but then also we face some landslides while traveling. So understand the pain of locals who lost their home in this massive landslide. Love from India @lifeskills-tv
