Un dia en Tucupita - A day in Tucupita
Uno de los lugares que siempre tuve curiosidad en ir fue a la ciudad de Tucupita y en el 2014 sin planificarlo me llegó la oportunidad de hacerlo.
Estaba en Cumana, donde asistí a la Feria Internacional del Libro de Venezuela (Filven), evento que por algunos años me permitió recorrer gran parte del país, ya que soy Promotor Cultural, poseo una editorial alternativa y era expositor en esos eventos.
Debía estar 3 días en la primogénita del continente pero por órdenes del Cenal se postergó para la semana siguiente todo y esto alteró la planificación que se había hecho, por lo que me tocó cambiar reservaciones de hotel y pasajes aéreos, encontrándome con el problema que no había cupo hasta 15 días después.
One of the places I was always curious to go was the city of Tucupita and in 2014, without planning, I had the opportunity to do so.
I was in Cumana, where I attended the International Book Fair of Venezuela (Filven), an event that for some years allowed me to tour much of the country, as I am a cultural promoter, I have an alternative editorial and was an exhibitor at these events.
I had to stay 3 days in the firstborn of the continent but by order of the Cenal everything was postponed for the following week and this altered the planning that had been done, so I had to change hotel reservations and air tickets, finding the problem that there was no room until 15 days later.
Estaba acompañado de mi familia que consta de esposa y 2 hijos, estos tenían en ese entonces 7 y 2 años, de tal modo que debimos improvisar.
Nos fuimos unos días a casa de una amiga en Margarita y otros los pasamos en casa de familiares míos en Puerto La Cruz y la propia Cumana, hasta que llegó el momento del evento.
Pasado este todavía teníamos una semana para regresar y nos fuimos a visitar unos familiares de mi esposa en Maturín.
I was accompanied by my family, which consists of a wife and two children, who were 7 and 2 years old at the time, so we had to improvise.
We went to a friend's house in Margarita for a few days and spent others in the homes of my relatives in Puerto La Cruz and Cumana herself, until the time came for the event.
After this we still had a week to return and we went to visit some relatives of my wife in Maturin.
Estando allá fue que se me ocurrió irnos un día a Tucupita.
Tomamos un carro en el terminal y realizamos el inesperado viaje.
El trayecto duró varias horas pero resultó interesante transitar por los llanos de Monagas.
Ya en la ciudad decidimos caminar para conocerla.
A pesar de ser pequeña sobrepasó mis expectativas en cuanto a ella, ya que esperaba conseguirme algo más primitivo, sin embargo es una ciudad pequeña que aún no ha sido invadida por el turismo.
While we were there, it occurred to me to go to Tucupita one day.
We took a car at the terminal and made the unexpected trip.
The journey took several hours but it was interesting to travel through the plains of Monagas.
Once in the city we decided to walk around and get to know it.
In spite of being small it surpassed my expectations regarding it, since I was hoping to get something more primitive, however it is a small city that has not yet been invaded by tourism.
No posee terminal de pasajeros y en su mercado se respira autoctonidad.
El delta es todo un espectáculo y la galería fotográfica que les dejo es parte de mi experiencia allí.
It does not have a passenger terminal and in its market one breathes autoctonity.
The delta is quite a spectacle and the photo gallery I leave with you is part of my experience there.
