More Memories: Burning Sky

avatar

I know, I have already posted some photos of this spectacular sunrise in Slovenia, but since today our measures have began loosening and I was looking through my photo archive searching for the most beautiful memories of last year.

Burning Sky
Triglav National Park . Slovenia

The morning when I took these photos belongs certainly to the most amazing sunrises I have ever been able to experience.

Canon EOS R | EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM
ISO 100 . f/8 . 1/20 sec . @70 mm

And this is one place I will definitely visit as soon as I am allowed to cross the border to Slovenia again. It is on my way to the Lepena Valley anyway, of which I have posted the other day >>> Oh, how I miss this valley <<< and so you might already know where my first photo trip should lead to.

Canon EOS R | RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
ISO 100 . f/8 . 1/6 sec . @43 mm

The big cloud moved like a snake of fire over the mountains, but after a few minutes the sky got brighter and not much time after this shot the clouds had almost dissolved and the fire on the sky was gone.

Canon EOS R | EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM

At about the same time when the glowing clouds dissolved, the mountains Veliki Ozebnik (2,480 m / 8,136 ft) and Jalovec (2,645 m / 8,678 ft) on the opposite site of the sunrise have caught the first rays of sunshine which caused a beautiful Alpenglow.

And to finalize my today's post I want to show you a more fresh photo which I have taken just a few days ago at the reservoir.

Danke dir, der war echt schön und eine richtige Überraschung, denn zuerst war der Himmel leer und dann sind diese Wolken über die Bergkette gezogen 🙂

Thank you very much for your kind compliment @gidlark, I appreciate it 😊
When you have seen such a burning sky yourself you know what I mean when I say this might be the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen :)

Beautiful blazing sky! But the mountains do not spew lava. Great photos!

That would have been even better if there was lava flowing down the mountains 😉
Thanks a lot for your nice words, @always1success, I appreciate your kind compliments on my photos 😊

I do remember that post, with spectacular sunrise and alpenglow. I understand that this photos are among your most beautiful memories of last year @johannpiber. The colour of the clouds and golden glow of this amazing mountains.
I wish you to capture more equally amazing photos this year too.
Have a great weekend @johannpiber.

I have had so many plans for this spring, but they will have to wait for the next year. For this year I do hope that I can visit these places soon and have a look how they look like now, because on some places almost nobody will have been there for many weeks. If they don't open the borders soon I'll have to stay here and learn more about my own country ;)

Thank you so much for your comment on my photos and the nice wishes @cezary-io, I wish you the best and a great weekend too 🙂

WOW fire in the sky, these shots are all amazing and hopefully it will not be too long before you able to be travelling near and far for amazing scenes like this again :)

I could find such scenes here too, of course, but somehow I feel so familiar in this area down there in Slovenia.
Good morning JJ, thank you very much for your kind comment and wishes - I wish you a great Sunday 🙂

Always a pleasure to visit your posts mate, I see we were wrong when it come sot the EL, both in the top three, I was honestly shocked LOL

I was not shocked seeing your name on top, but my third place did shock me, because all I have done was to reply to comments - busines as usual ;)

But I don't want it to become like it was before I left the EL, because it was just too much for me besides the work and posting all the other things I had to do.
So I'll take it easy like I don't post every day anymore :)

I keep telling myself i wont post every day, but then I end up feeling I am missing something with the start of my day and throw together a post lOL

and yes for me its business as usual, most of my counties replied, and the comments I do on the Wednesday walk posts

I thought the same for the first few weeks, but then started to get used of posting only every second or even third day.
For me it's all easier that way, what does not mean that I won't post more often in winter or when we have bad weather for a few days or so ;)

That you have the Wednesday Walks is very good for you of course, and the people like them a lot. There are many Wednesday walk posts and it seems there are even more each week - great 👍🙂

Ohh yeah I really need to cut down the number of posts I do in a week, that would also bring me down in the EL LOL

Yeah Wednesday walk is growing again, hard to keep up but now I am retired I have the time ;)

You are doing well with your posts and I don't think you should post less as long as it doesn't stress you too much - I don't know how much posts count for the EL numbers though.
People love your Wednesday walk - it is easy to participate because you don't have hard or strict rules like other contests have and that's really cool :)

Oh, I need a ticket to win? Maybe that's why I have never won yet 😂
Basically, of course, you are right, but we can play online too, what I have been doing for many years. I am always playing the same numbers and sometimes I win, but all in all I lose, of course ;)

Yeah thats so unfair isnt it insisting you must buy a ticker before having a chance to Win, the world is just so focused on Money LOL
I don't think you can buy ticket online here, but not sure I should check it out

The lottery company has on their website also other games and casino games additionally to our official Austrian Lotto. So they offer you more than only one way to lose your money ;)

But forget the money - I think the !BEER is here - I have just got a few messages, but something seems to be wrong.

I know it won't be this spring that I see the new growth there and the mighty waterfalls because of the melting snow, but I think I should be able to catch the autumn colors.
Thank you for your kind comment on my burning sky - sometimes the luck is with the photographer 😉

Good morning @qwerrie 🙂

Yes, we are doing well and so do you hopefully.

The 4th image - Alpenglow - I love it and it is always amazing to see the first sunrays hit a mountain peak and let it glow like coal in a camp fire 🔥

Thank you very much for your nice comment, @qwerrie, I always appreciate your compliments and wish you a great week my friend 🙂

Wow! Beautiful. Really fire in the sky Johann. I love the last mountain photo where the top looks as if still glowing from a fire.

Lovely flower photo with bokeh.

When the first sunrays illuminate a mountain peak it's called "Alpenglow" - it always looks great and I love to see it too. The sky was almost clear when I arrived there, but then within a few minutes these amazing clouds came out from behind the mountains, and after another few minutes they were gone.

Thanks a lot for your kind comment and that you like this little flower which is in German also called "Wiesen-Witwenblume" what means "Meadow Widow Flower", but I have no idea why ;)

And thank you very much for the !tip 😉
