Another day, another braai...

It is indeed another day with another braai today, lol - and today we are doing a pork roast on the kettle braai... but the other day it was just a tradition braai. I am sitting here now trying to remember what day it was... it's all a blur lately haha... anyway, here's a pic of tonight's porkie.

Nomnesss indeed! Looking forward to that later. Keeping it simple with some green beans and garlic butter baby tatoes... more nomness! Ok I remembered when this braai was, it was this last Friday haha! Can't believe I forgot that, already!

Right... Friday! It was an absolute cooker of a day... yip, another one. Jude pretty much lived in the pool for the day - smart boy because it really was the best place to be!

Once the fire was lit, Herbie and I decided to go roast ourselves in the garden instead, lol. I absolutely LOVE being out in the garden! I really could live in it haha! I have been getting the vegetable garden organized and also rescuing the olive Grove which my dad has very clearly not been tending to as he should have over the last few months.

Back when my mom was still around the olive trees were well looked after and as young as the trees are, she still managed to harvest several jars of olives... so I suppose there is a part of me that finds my time here in this garden as a way of staying close to my mom.

In the last two months that I have been here, I have discovered so many little "secrets" which she has left behind. So much love that she put into this space, even though it was not her own... it was simply her love for gardening and nature.

The decision by my dad was always to mostly preserve the natural fynbos in the garden and simply to "add to it" which has created this amazingly wild looking space. Granted, the "beauty" aspects of it were looking less than pretty when I arrived in November, they are finally starting to show wigns of recovery now. Lol, I have been teasing my dad ever since I got there that in order for plants to actually thrive versus "survive" they need water lol. So, the plants are beginning to look pretty again, but his water bill won't haha!!! Totally worth it!

Being out in the garden always calls for a glass of wine! Well, no... but that is my excuse and I am sticking to it. It is a lengthy affair watering this garden so wine helps haha! Did some roasted marrow to accompany the braai meat and a few garlic buttered mielies. I think I made a salad too but forgot to photograph it. Lol.

Plenty of distraction in this beautiful place that we may well soon call home. One of which is the sunsets! There is not a night that they don't take your breath away. I could definitely get used to being a country bumpkin.... and I KNOW Herbie loves it here. Jude on the other hand is a little more resistant to the idea, as he will have to seriously brush up on his Afrikaans skills in order to make friends with all the little boer seuns (farm boys)... hahahaha!!!

So, that's a wrap from me today... time to get back to today's braai and condiments haha! Hope you a had a FABULOUS Monday and start to your week!

MWAH!!!!

Until next time...

Love the stunning shots and the environment... I love such environment like this, where I can take some pleasurable moments reading and sipping yoghurt. It's also good for photography.
