Human (Music Themed 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)

Some rock bands are not well received by the critics, and even by rock music fans. Despite the animosity, they still became popular gaining fans from either casual rock music listeners, and even other rock fans. One example is Creed. They are even considered by a popular magazine as one of the worst bands of 1990s.

As a casual rock music fan, I honestly liked some of their songs particularly those which are released as official singles. Their biggest seller might have been "Human Clay", which became a diamond seller in United States. Back then when it was released, pop music has been very popular being the peak of Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears.

The band also scored their first hit at Billboard Hot 100 with "Higher". It isn't that much of a hit on MTV, which was my source if music then. However, it was a hit in rock radio stations, and I can remember my classmates who used to be rock music fans singing the song with their guitar.

"With Arms Wide Open" may be considered their biggest hits being their first and only number 1 single in Billboard Hot 100. The band might be an albums artists for huge sales, but at least they got a number 1 single. It even helped the album extend its chart life and reached more than 10 million sales.
