Detrimental (5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)
Good day freewriters! Here is my freewrite entry for the prompt "detrimental ". This 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge is an initiative by @mariannewest. Everyone are invited to take part in this challenge by checking her profile for the daily prompt, as well as @freewritehouse.
Moving to a new city has been very difficult for Belle, which is something her parents are not aware of. She concealed about what she really feels, and pretended everything is going fine for her in school whenever she was asked by her parents.
She's a total stranger in school. Different cultures, point of views, and behaviors. All of these things has been a shock for Belle, and getting along with others caused her anxieties. There even comes bullying which had detrimental effect on her mental health.
The day came when she doesn't want to go to school anymore, and her parents are worried she might do something. When she felt a bit better, she unlocked her room and talked to her mom about her experience in school, and her depressive episodes.
Her mom never knew about her depression, and she regrets being focused on work, with less time to inquire from her daughter. She decided to resign from her job after a discussion with her husband to focus on their family. As for Belle, she's under homeschooling whilst still enrolled in therapy sessions.
