Saludos, amigos. De nuevo el equipo de la comunidad Blogging Challenge nos proponen una interesante pregunta para estimular la imaginación y la reflexión. En esta oportunidad nos piden comentar cuál animal nos gustaría ser, de tener la oportunidad. Acá va el mío…

A la mayoría de las personas nos gustan los animales, bien sea para admirarlos y disfrutarlos libremente en sus ambientes naturales o para tenerlos como mascotas. Esas maravillas de la naturaleza, que han estado con nosotros desde el inicio de los tiempos, nos resultan tan familiares están tan integrados a nuestro día a día que sería realmente inimaginable la vida sin ellos.

No tendría nada de raro entonces, que ante la majestuosidad de un ave en vuelo, la rapidez y sagacidad de un felino, o la capacidad de nadar incansablemente en las profundidades del mar, cualquiera haya dejado volar su imaginación para fundirse en ese animal que por sus características particulares le llama la atención. Casi estoy seguro que si se hiciera una encuesta más de uno declararía que se ha imaginado siendo un animal.

Ese deseo de encarnarse en un ave, felino o cualquier otra especie ha estado presente desde los tiempos antiguos. Quizá por eso es que en todas las culturas existen animales mitológicos. Algunos son el resultado de la hibridación de varios animales, tal como el Pegaso, que es un caballo alado, pero también tenemos los híbridos de humanos y animal, como el Minotauro, mezcla de toro y hombre, el Centauro, mezcla de caballo y hombre, o las esfinges, donde se funden partes de ave, cuerpo de león y rostro de mujer.

Most of us like animals, either to admire them freely in their natural environment or to have them as pets. These beings of nature, which have been with us since the beginning of time, are so familiar to us and are so integrated into our daily lives that life without them would be unimaginable.

There would be nothing strange then, that before the majesty of a bird in flight, the speed and shrewdness of a feline, or the ability to swim tirelessly in the depths of the sea, anyone has let his imagination fly to merge into that animal that by its particular characteristics attracts his attention. I am almost certain that if a survey were made, more than one would declare that they have imagined themselves as an animal.

This desire to be incarnated in a bird, feline or any other species has been present since ancient times. Perhaps that is why there are mythological animals in all cultures. Some are the result of the hybridization of several animals, such as the Pegasus, which is a winged horse, but we also have the hybrids of humans and animals, such as the Minotaur, a mixture of bull and man, the Centaur, a mixture of horse and man, or the sphinxes, where parts of a bird, a lion's body and a woman's face are fused.

De poder ser un animal me encantaría ser un Fénix. En las diferentes tradiciones mitológicas el Fénix ha sido concebido de diferente manera, para algunos es un ave que se consume en un gran estallido de fuego y luego, al final, cuando ya no queda nada, renace con mayor esplendor de sus cenizas; para otros, el ave sencillamente muere, se descompone y luego resurge de nuevo a la vida.

Esa capacidad de renacer una y otra vez hace del Fénix una figura eterna, que ha tenido el don de vencer a la muerte. Así que como Fénix sería inmortal. ¿No les parece suficiente atractivo…?

Pero además, esta ave mitológica tiene poderes curativos, sus lágrimas son capaces de sanar cualquier mal y es depositario de una gran sabiduría.

Siempre he sentido una gran fascinación por esta figura mitológico Ahora que lo pienso, mientras escribo estas líneas, mi afición por él se debe a que está muy ligado a la espiritualidad, lo que conecta con mis creencias. El Fénix es un símbolo de trascendencia, de que hay un más allá al que se llega y del cual podemos volver. Hay quienes lo consideran como el equivalente al Yin y el Yang por representar la unidad en la que todos vivimos. Un círculo eterno de nacimiento y muerte.

Con esta publicación cumplo la octava entrega para esta quinta parte del Challenge. Una vez más agradezco a los amigos que han creado tan interesante iniciativa, donde nos dejan temas para la reflexión. Invito a todos a participar.

In the different mythological traditions the Phoenix has been conceived in different ways, for some it is a bird that is consumed in a great burst of fire and then, at the end, when there is nothing left, is reborn with greater splendor from its ashes; for others, the bird simply dies, decomposes and then rises again to life.

That ability to be reborn again and again makes the Phoenix an eternal figure, who has had the gift of conquering death. So as a Phoenix, it would be immortal. Isn't that attractive enough...?

But in addition, this mythological bird has healing powers, its tears are capable of healing any ailment and it is the repository of great wisdom.

I have always felt a great fascination for this mythological figure. Now that I think about it, as I write these lines, my fondness for it is due to the fact that it is closely linked to spirituality, which connects with my beliefs. The Phoenix is a symbol of transcendence, that there is a beyond to which we reach and from which we can return. Some consider it the equivalent of Yin and Yang for representing the unity in which we all live. An eternal circle of birth and death.
