Be Brave

During this pandemic, we supposed to keep our youngest son at home since he is categorised under high-risk group. However, it is always easier said than done. School has started and the eldest son has started school. It's time to restart the sending-and-picking the son to and fro school daily. Before the pandemic, it was always my youngest son and I went to school together.

.
I had a lot of concerns about going to school with him. Being a CDH survivor and still on the journey of growing the smaller-than-average lungs, we have a lot of consideration. Since day 1 of starting school, my husband was the one picking the eldest son from school. But yesterday, he had to be on a meeting during the school's off hour. We were left to no other choice but to go and pick the eldest son. I wasn't as ready as Jansen. He was ever ready and excited. He exclaimed, "Nothing to be worry about, I can wear face shield and face mask."

It is time!

Frankly speaking, I was nervous. I did not know how would the crowd be like, would everyone follow the Standard Operating Procedure, stuff like that. But, my son's courage somehow rubbed unto me, and I told myself to be brave. We had done all the protection and preparation, so just be rested and to go with peace.

I thought he was adorable in this way, like going for some farming and under the son activity, let's had a picture first while waiting for the lift.

Turns out, the son was scorching bright, when we reached the school, the queue was long. Everyone followed the procedure well. It was amazingly neat and orderly. There was a queue for parents going into a school at one gate. And exit at another gate. Everyone was trying to stay 1m apart of one another. Good job on that. And I was touched watching a group of parents helping out to ensure the orderliness. For your information, we have Caring Parents Group at the school where you signed up to help in several occasions for free, not paid. Kudos to all these parents.

The youngest one was happy queueing with me under the hot son.

When we entered the school premise, there were boxes where we should stand and display the cardboard of your child's name and class. Teachers guarding the students waiting zone would call out the name so that the child recognised and then to walk out of the waiting zone according to arrows. Very well done SOP.

Jansen immediately shouted, "Brother!" when he saw him, but he also knew they were not supposed to touch each other until the brother had gone home to bathe.

On the way home, the eldest son was famished. It was 2pm. He happily ate his Subway I packed earlier. Gobbled it down in less than 10 minutes. Seriously that hungry.

Sometimes, when situation does not favor us, we just have to be brave and get it done, while having peace inside. If not, everything will be stressed up and messy.

Sending my love to everyone here.

❤️Love from me❤️

I can understand what goes on in your mind.
I worry for my son since he's got a serious case of eczema and I'm afraid he's not used to being in school again.
His skin may not be able to adapt to the heat, sweat and etc.
And our worst happened - his skin flair up on the first day. My hubby had to rub his body down with lots of lotion and bath 3 times a day, plus early sleep too
