Hola queridos y apreciados lectores, espero estén genial
Cómo muchos ya saben desde hace ya varios meses hago parte del increíble equipo de podcaster de @Cervantes, así que es por ello que hoy los invito a mi tercer episodio de "De Paseo por la Música" con un tema bastante atractivo y denso.
Ya habiendo hablado días anteriores de Beethoven con su esencia clásica, luego de Tchaikovsky con su romanticismo denso, hoy vamos a hablar de Shostakovich y Barber, compositores muy diferentes pero que hoy le encontraremos algo en común. La segunda guerra mundial

Así que les daré una breve idea de ambos compositores para que entiendan mucho mejor el tema...
Ambos compositores, tanto Shostakovich como Barber vivieron la época de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, eso sí, en países distintos pero, la vivieron... Uno en Rusia y otro en Estados Unidos. Uno perseguido y reprimido por el gobierno, otro con una carrera con menos trabas.

Shostakovich tuvo una vida con bastantes choques por el gobierno de Stalin, teniendo que ocultar muchas cosas en su música desde que empezaran sus problemas con el gobierno, así que vamos a escuchar muchos fragmentos de este compositor para entender todo lo que había detrás de la partitura.

Por otro lado Barber no sufrió muchas consecuencias como tal pero si tomó muchas cosas de la guerra, no en todas sus obras pero sí en varias, en especial el "Adagio de cuerdas", que también vamos a escuchar para entenderlo y adentrarnos en él.
En general pienso que hay muchos artistas que si bien no llegaron a tener mucha relación, el hecho de vivir prácticamente que una misma época o un mismo contexto marca de gran manera. Cómo ejemplo quisiera mencionar en cómo la pandemia actual nos va a marcar a los músicos, sobretodo los compositores, que en los próximos años muchos pondrán a la luz obras basadas en éste tiempo que vivimos.

Having already spoken in previous days of Beethoven with his classical essence, after Tchaikovsky with his dense romanticism, today we are going to talk about Shostakovich and Barber, very different composers but today we will find something in common.

So I will give you a brief idea of both composers so that you understand the subject much better ...
Both composers, both Shostakovich and Barber lived during the Second World War, yes, in different countries, but they did ... One in Russia and the other in the United States. One persecuted and repressed by the government, another with a career with fewer obstacles.

Shostakovich had a life with many shocks by the government of Stalin, having to hide many things in his music since his problems with the government began, so we are going to listen to many fragments of this composer to understand everything there was behind the score.
