     Hello to all the Gems community, today I come to talk about a very important subject that will always be present in our lives, changes.

     Hola a toda la comunidad de Gems, hoy vengo a hablar sobre muy importante y que siempre estará presente en nuestras vidas, los cambios.

     As I told you in a post almost a year ago, for many months I worked as a manager in my family's barbershop, a job that I liked a lot, but, at the same time, it consumed me a lot, since I work every day, the whole day, except for Sundays, where I worked half a day, having the afternoon free that I used mostly to do college work and occasionally just rest and relax a little.

     Como les conté en un post hace casi un año, por muchos meses trabajé como encargado en la barbería de mi familia, trabajo que me gustaba bastante, pero, que, a la vez, me consumía muchísimo, ya que trabajo todos los días, el día completo, a excepción de los domingos, donde salo trabajaba medio día, teniendo la tarde libre que aprovechaba en su mayoría para hacer tareas de la universidad y de vez en cuando solo descansar y relajarme un poco.

     But what I had not told you is that a few months after I had uploaded that post, the barbershop closed due to the difficult situation in which the pandemic had not put, and since that time the place where it was located had remained alone and uninhabited. For quite a long time it was thought what could be done with it, until it was concluded that the best thing would be to rent it to someone who could make better use of it, but it was quite a few months later until someone was really interested in it.

     Pero lo que no les había contado es que unos meses después de haber subido ese post, la barbería cerró por la difícil situación en la que la pandemia no había puesto, y desde ese momento el local donde esta estaba ubicada se había mantenido solo e inhabitado. Por bastante tiempo se pensó que se podría hacer con él, hasta llegar a la conclusión de que lo mejor sería alquilarlo a alguien que le pudiera sacar mejor provecho, pero fue bastantes meses después hasta que alguien se interesó verdaderamente en él.

     But some work needed to be done to the place so that it was ready to be delivered, and this presented a good change of face, from a few coats of paint, a new bathroom and some new points of electricity, to some arrangements in the roof so that it was perfect. Between my brother and I took care of most of these things, my brother took care of the roof, I took care of the painting and between the two of us we put the missing electricity points, this always accompanied by much nostalgia for all the memories lived in that place, plus it was not the first time I painted that place, long before I was also in charge of giving color to that place to turn it into a barbershop, which filled me with great satisfaction, but this time the feeling was somewhat bittersweet.

     Pero se necesitaba hacerle un trabajo al local para que estuviera listo para entregarlo, y esto presentaba un buen cambio de cara, desde unas cuantas manos de pintura, un baño nuevo y algunos puntos nuevos de electricidad, hasta unos arreglos en el techo para que este quedara perfecto. Entre mi hermano y yo nos encargamos de la mayoría de estas cosas, mi hermano se encargó del techo, yo de la pintura y entre los dos pusimos los puntos de electricidad que faltaban, esto siempre acompañado de mucha nostalgia por todos los recuerdos vividos en aquel lugar, además de que no era la primera vez que pintaba ese lugar, mucho tiempo antes también me encargué de darle color a ese local para convertirlo en una barbería, lo cual me llenó de mucha satisfacción, pero esta vez el sentimiento era algo agridulce.

     Just like the barbershop, my life changed completely when it closed, since this was my source of income, but fortunately, little by little, opportunities began to appear that, thanks to God, I have been able to take advantage of, and even more so now, when, together with my girlfriend, we are full of goals, projects and illusions that I have no doubt we are going to make a reality.

     Así como la barbería, mi vida cambió completamente cuando esta cerró, ya que esta era mi fuente de ingresos, pero afortunadamente poco a poco fueron saliendo oportunidades que gracias a Dios he sabido aprovechar, y más ahora, que, junto a mi novia, estamos llenos de metas, proyectos e ilusiones que no tengo dudas de que vamos a hacer realidad.

     Both the local and me, life made us go through a process of changes that perhaps at the beginning we did not like, but every change that happens to us is an opportunity to get out of our comfort zone, to acquire new challenges, and above all, to prepare ourselves for the new paths full of opportunities that life has prepared for us.

     Tanto al local como a mí, la vida nos hizo pasar por un proceso de cambios que quizá al principio no nos terminaba de gustar, pero todo cambio que nos ocurre es una oportunidad de salir de nuestra zona de confort, de adquirir nuevos retos, y, sobre todo, de prepararnos para los nuevos caminos llenos de oportunidades que la vida nos tiene preparados.
