     Hello to all the Gems community, today I am going to talk a little bit about how we can start learning to play guitar.

     Hola a toda la comunidad de Gems, el día de hoy les vengo a hablar un poco acerca de cómo podemos comenzar a aprender a tocar guitarra.

     Learning to play guitar or any other instrument in general can be quite scary, an instrument is a world and getting into it is not easy at all. In the case of the guitar we have an infinity of chords, rhythms and, above all, techniques that allow us to create incredible melodies, so sometimes it is a little difficult to know where to start, so I want to share with you the way that, in my opinion, is the most advisable to start.

     Aprender a tocar guitarra o cualquier otro instrumento en general puede generar bastante miedo, un instrumento es un mundo y adentrarse en él no es para nada sencillo. En el caso de la guitarra tenemos infinidad de acordes, ritmos y, sobre todo, técnicas que nos permiten crear melodías increíbles, por eso, a veces es un poco difícil saber por dónde empezar, por eso quiero compartirles la forma que, a mi criterio, es la más recomendable para empezar.

     The first thing that comes to mind when we think of playing guitar, are the chords, but it turns out that there are countless of them, so when we look on the internet or in a book we wonder where do I start? Instead I recommend you to simply start learning your favorite songs by learning the chords first, probably only 4 or 5, but it will serve to start and it will fill you with excitement knowing that you are playing your favorite song, little by little you will learn more and more songs, and with these, new chords in each one. Personally, this is what helped me the most to learn the chords little by little, practicing with your favorite songs, in a short time you will realize how many chords you have learned.

     Lo primero que nos viene a la mente al pensar en tocar guitarra, son los acordes, pero resulta que hay infinidad de ellos, así que cuando buscamos en internet o en algún libro nos preguntamos ¿Por dónde empiezo? En vez de eso te recomiendo simplemente comenzar a aprenderte tus canciones preferidas aprendiendo primero los acordes de esta, probablemente solo sean 4 o 5, pero servirá para comenzar y te llenará de emoción sabiendo que estás tocando tu canción preferida, poco a poco irás aprendiendo más y más canciones, y con estas, nuevos acordes en cada una. En lo personal es lo que más me ayudó a ir aprendiéndome poco a poco los acordes, practicando con tus canciones favoritas, en pronto tiempo de darás cuenta de la gran cantidad de acordes que has aprendido.

     Another doubt that I had at the beginning was: do I play with plectrum or with fingers, personally I recommend to start playing with fingers, because for classical pieces or simply to play some arpeggios or intros of our songs, these will be of vital importance, so I recommend practicing some basic arpeggio and gradually getting used to it and making our fingers independent.

     Otra duda que se me presentaba mucho al principio era ¿toco con púa o con dedos?, personalmente recomiendo comenzar tocando a dedos, ya que para piezas clásicas o simplemente para tocar algunos arpegios o intros de nuestras canciones, estos nos serán de vital importancia, por lo que recomiendo ir practicando algún arpegio básico e ir poco a poco acostumbrando e independizando nuestros dedos.

     But we can't leave aside the pick technique, which at first may seem a little tangled or complicated, but with a little practice you will master it easily. This one has many advantages, if your nails are not very long or you like rock and metal, this will probably be your favorite. For this one I recommend you to look for a song that has some punctuation that we like a lot, this will help us not to get discouraged, since at the beginning it will cost us a little, but practice a little, and you will see how every time it becomes easier.

     Pero tampoco podemos dejar a un lado la técnica de púa, que al principio puede parecer un poco enredada o complicada, pero con un poco de práctica la dominarás fácilmente. Esta tiene muchas ventajas, si tus uñas no son muy largas o te gusta mucho el rock y el metal, muy probablemente esta será tu favorita. Para esta te recomiendo buscar alguna canción que tenga algún punteo que nos guste mucho, esto nos ayudará a no desanimarnos, ya que al principio nos costará un poco, pero practica un poco, y verás cómo cada vez se te hace más fácil.

     Mastering all these techniques is not an easy thing, it takes quite some time to perfect each one, but the results we can get with them are incredible. As a guitarist our goal will always be to adapt easily to any genre we come across along the way, and with these basic techniques, we will be a little closer to it. What are you waiting for?      El dominio de todas estas técnicas no es cosa fácil, lleva bastante tiempo perfeccionar cada una, pero los resultados que podemos obtener con ellas son increíbles.
