Day 3, 30 days #BloggingChallenge (Part 01)/ Favorite Quote

When I read today's topic. I didn't hesitate for a second. Because I already knew what my favorite quote was. In fact, recently I have used it a lot because in the conferences I have given I always make reflections regarding our responsibility as human beings in the conservation of the planet and the need to take care of the environment and all species.

Therefore, I take advantage of this space to not only mention my favorite quote but also to tell you a little bit about it because I think it is so important that we always keep it in mind.

When I read that sentence I immediately thought of the marine species affected by our massive consumption of plastic, and the reality we are living in, in which there are not only islands of plastic, but many organisms die from consuming plastic, that there is a new aggregation of plastic, lava, and rock called plastiglomerate, and that it could be used as a footprint of our passage through the planet a footprint of the second industrial revolution, the development of the chemical industry and of course of our unconsciousness.

I thought about the homeless dogs that are abused, but I said to myself they may be able to run and bark, but the sea birds, the whales, the turtles we are killing them silently. Already in 2050 projections indicate that there will be more plastics in the ocean than fish. That's why I believe that the environment and all the organisms in it are defenseless against our actions. Therefore, the call I make is to become aware of what we are doing and produce a change by thinking about everything around us. I kindly invite you to do so.

Cuando leí el tema de hoy. No dudé ni un segundo. Porque ya sabía cual es mi cita favorita. De hecho, recientemente la he utilizado mucho porque en las conferencias que he dictado siempre hago reflexiones referentes a nuestra responsabilidad como seres humanos en la conservación del planeta y en la necesidad de cuidar el ambiente y todas las especies.

Por eso, aprovecho este espacio para además de mencionar mi cita favorita contarles un poco porque me parece tan importante que siempre la tengamos presente.

Cuando leí esa frase inmediatamente pensé en las especies marinas afectadas por nuestro consumo masivo de plástico, y la realidad que estamos viviendo, en la cual no solo hay islas de plásticos, sino que muchos organismos mueren por consumir plástico, que hay una nueva agregación de plástico, lava y roca que se llama plastiglomerado, y que podría usarse como huella de nuestro paso por el planeta una huella de la segunda revolución industrial, el desarrollo de la industria química y por supuesto de nuestra inconciencia.

Pensé en los perros sin hogar que son maltratados, pero me dije ellos tal vez puedan correr y ladrar, pero las aves marinas, las ballenas, las tortugas los estamos matando de forma silente. Ya en 2050 las proyecciones indican que en el océano habrá más plásticos que peces. Por eso creo, que el ambiente y todos los organismos que lo conforman son indefensos ante nuestras acciones. Por eso, el llamado que yo hago es a tomar conciencia de lo que hacemos y producir un cambio pensando en todo lo que nos rodea. Te invito amablemente a hacerlo.
