The weekend we were visiting an old friend of my father, the poor man is alone and suffers from Parkinson's, unfortunately we must make exceptions for visits for this quarantine, we had to bring him some food so that he does not have to go out and risk contagion. The family definitely does not always carry our blood, he is like another father to me and in fact Mi Mathias calls him grandpa.

The entrance of her old house is covered with all kinds of plants and trees which makes it look very cosy, and one of the ones I really love to see when it flowers are the young Madagascar carnation or Madagascar raspberry trees as they also call it, And I say young trees because they are only a couple of meters old and this tree can reach up to 12 meters high, which makes this a big tree and easily wraps a good piece of land, I think that in the future the entrance of this old house will look like a mountain and probably it will be a very cool place because of the shade.

This tree and its flowers remind me a lot of my childhood, when my dear Grandma Pancha took me to school, the fence of the school where I studied, had a large tree of these, and I remember that there she was waiting for me when it was time to leave, in times when this flowered always take some of these flowers to take them to my mother, my grandmother told me that these were carnations, as she knew him.

I couldn't help but take a good number of pictures, because now near my house it is almost impossible to see these trees, all the ones that were nearby were cut down years ago and unfortunately there are no more. I love to see the ground underneath this marshy tree with all the red flowers falling, it really looks beautiful. The truth is that they are almost perfect photographs, which do not need much editing to make their beauty stand out, however I wanted to play a little with textures in the photographs. and these are the results.

The truth is that both originals, with a bit of touch up in gloss, and those added by this grunge filter from the Snapseed application, are all beautiful in my opinion. In addition, it is good to note that the pods that this plant produces are used as food for livestock and have also been used as a musical instrument, as they produce a sound very similar to that of maracas. It is attributed some healing properties to treat the pain product of rheumatism, are used macerations of the bark of this tree and the infusion of the flowers apparently has been taken to treat coughs and bronchial asthma, the truth is that I did not know that it had these properties, I think I will have to investigate more about this beautiful tree.

El fin de semana estuvimos visitando a un viejo amigo de mi padre, el pobre esta solo y sufre de Parkinson, lamentablemente debemos hacer excepciones en cuanto a visitas para esta cuarentena, debíamos llevarle algo de comida para que no tenga necesidad de salir y arriesgarse con eso al contagio. La familia definitivamente no siempre lleva nuestra sangre, el para mi es como otro padre y de hecho Mi Mathias lo llama abuelito.

La entrada de su vieja casa está cubierta de todo tipo de plantas y árboles lo cual la hace ver muy acogedora, y uno de los que realmente amo ver cuando florece son los jóvenes arboles de clavellino de Madagascar o framboyán de Madagascar como también le dicen, y digo jóvenes arboles pues apenas tienen un par de metros y este árbol puede llegar a medir hasta 12 metros de alto, lo cual hace de este un gran árbol y que fácilmente arropa un buen pedazo de terreno, creo que en un futuro la entrada de esta vieja casa parecerá una montaña y probablemente sea un sitio muy fresco debido a la sombra.

Este árbol y sus flores me recuerdan mucho a mi niñez, cuando mi querida Abuela Pancha me llevaba al colegio, la cerca de la escuela donde estudiaba, tenía un gran árbol de estos, y recuerdo que allí me esperaba ella a la hora de salir, en tiempos cuando este florecía siempre tomaba algunas flores de estas para llevárselas a mi madre, mi abuela me decía que estas eran clavellinas, pues así le conocía ella.

No pude evitar tomar un buen número de fotografías, pues ahora cerca de mi casa es casi imposible ver estos árboles, todos los que había cerca fueron talados hace años y lamentablemente ya no hay. Amo ver el suelo debajo de este árbol esterado con todas las flores rojas que caen, realmente se ve hermoso. La verdad es que son fotografías casi perfectas, que no necesitan de mucha edición para que resalte su belleza, sin embargo quise jugar un poco con texturas en las fotografías. y estos son los resultados.

La verdad es que tanto originales, con un poco de retoque en brillo, como a las que les agregue este filtro grunge de la aplicación Snapseed, a mi parecer son todas hermosas. Además, es bueno acotar que las vainas que esta planta produce, son utilizadas como alimento para el ganado y también han sido utilizadas como instrumento musical, pues producen un sonido muy similar al de las maracas. Se le atribuyen algunas propiedades curativas para tratar los dolores producto de la reuma, se utilizan maceraciones de la corteza de este árbol y la infusión de las flores al parecer ha sido tomada para tratar la tos y asmas bronquiales, la verdad es que desconocía que tenía estas propiedades, creo que tendré que investigar más sobre este hermoso árbol.
