Hello Everyone. Today, I'd like to share my ink drawing and a brief history of the surrealist artist, Salvador Dalí. He was one of the most fascinating and interesting painter who ever lived born 11 May, 1904 in Figueres, Spain.

His paintings were focused on intersection between unconsciousness and reality. He once addressed his paintings as, “hand-painted dream photographs”.

He claimed he got the inspiration for his paintings through dreams. Hence dreaming was an integral part of creating art for him. This made Dalí invent a tactic to enable him to access this hypnagogic realm. He had the ability to remember vividly his visuals while unconscious and would hold a key over a metal plate so that the moment sleep came creeping through, the clanging of the dropped key would wake him. So must times, he had to be unconscious before he could paint. Really Weird!!!

I used a black ball point pen and pelican paper for this drawing.

Here are the steps involved;

He died of heart failure on 23 January, 1989 in Spain.

He was also quite popular with quotes. Here are some of his Interesting quotes.
"I don't do drugs. I am drugs."
"Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it."
"The only difference between a madman and myself is that I am not mad."
"Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings."

Thanks for reading, viewing my drawing and getting to know about the famous Salvador Dalí. Enjoy the rest of your day.
