Draw This In Your Style @shani_artist (Instagram) Lovely Geisha (ESP/ENG)
Greetings dear cartoon art lovers.
Today I have participated in a Drawing in your style by the illustrator Shani on her Instagram account.
I wanted to participate because I loved her geisha drawing and I wanted to try to recreate it in my style.
Participating in these challenges is a very good practice and makes us known as small growing artists.

Hoy he participado en un Dibuja a tu estilo que lleva a cabo la ilustradora Shani en su cuenta de Instagram.
Quise participar porque me encantó su dibujo de geisha y quise tratar de recrearla a mi estilo.
Participar en estos retos es una muy buena práctica y nos da a conocer como pequeños artistas en crecimiento.

Paso a paso. / Step by Step
Cuando hacemos un DTIYS no se trata que copiemos al artista, se trata que tratemos de recrear su obra en nuestro estilo, lo que lo hace interesante.
Comúnmente estos artistas en Instagram convocan estos retos para celebrar que llegaron a cierta cantidad de seguidores o simplemente quieren agradecer la fidelidad de sus seguidores y con ellos hacer un sorteo.
En este caso, la artista está celebrando que está por llegar a los 10K de seguidores. No hay premios específicos mas que la participación de muchos artistas.
When we do a DTIYS it is not that we copy the artist, it is that we try to recreate his work in our style, which makes it interesting.
Usually these artists in Instagram call these challenges to celebrate that they reached a certain amount of followers or simply want to thank the loyalty of their followers and with them make a draw.
In this case, the artist is celebrating that she is about to reach 10K of followers. There are no specific prizes but the participation of many artists.
Cuando hago el boceto normalmente uso líneas gruesas y poco a poco las voy colocando más delgada a medida que voy pasando sobre alguna capa.
Pero hay casos que se me hace más sencillos y solo necesité dos capas. Este no fue el caso.
Al culminar con el proceso de lineado, procedí a aplicar el color base comando como muestra la paleta de color que empleó el artista, aunque debemos ser diferentes en cuando a posturas y algunas cosas, es bueno respetar los colores que empleó el artista.
Trabajé en el fondo, como he estado haciendo estos últimos diseños, trato de que sea algún tipo de marca personal, al menos hasta que me aburra.
Seguidamente trabajé en los ojos, usé los mismos tonos del cabello, ojos estilo chibi muy sencillos, pero cada detalle fue trabajado en una capa separada.
When I make the sketch I usually use thick lines and little by little I place them thinner as I go over some layer.
But there are cases that are easier for me and I only needed two layers. This was not the case.
When I finished with the line process, I proceeded to apply the base color command as shown in the color palette used by the artist, although we must be different in terms of positions and some things, it is good to respect the colors used by the artist.
I worked on the background, as I have been doing these last designs, I try to make it some kind of personal mark, at least until I get bored.
Then I worked on the eyes, I used the same hair tones, very simple chibi style eyes, but every detail was worked on in a separate layer.
Trabajé en el cabello de forma acostumbrada pero muy relajada. pues las líneas que marqué están sueltas.
En este diseño fui trabajando por nivel de dificultad, por eso comencé con el fondo, seguí con los ojos y luego procedí a trabajar con los detalles del abanico, que me fue de mucha dificultad ya que no sabía cómo recrearlo, el abanico de la ilustradora es muy sencillo la verdad pero al aplicar esa sencillez en mi dibujo lo hacia ver muy raro y plano.
Así que poco a poco fui dando pinceladas y difuminando, luego agregué algo de transparencias y el detalle de las flores.
Agrego el detalle del sombreado en la parte de atrás del diseño y aplico una serie de adornos, trabajo entonces con los detalles de la vestimenta así como en las luces y sombras, para finalmente trabajar con lo más sencillo que es el el sombreado de la piel.
Lista mi geisha, que viéndolo bien parece más española que japonesa. ¿Qué opinas? creo que salieron a relucir mis raíces europeas.
I worked on the hair in the usual way but very relaxed. because the lines I marked are loose.
In this design I worked by level of difficulty, so I started with the background, followed with the eyes and then proceeded to work with the details of the fan, which was very difficult because I did not know how to recreate it, the illustrator's fan is very simple indeed but when I applied that simplicity in my drawing it made it look very strange and flat.
So little by little I was giving brushstrokes and blurring, then I added some transparencies and the detail of the flowers.
I add the detail of the shading in the back of the design and apply a series of decorations, then I work with the details of the clothes as well as in the lights and shadows, to finally work with the simplest thing that is the shading of the skin.
Ready my geisha, who looking good looks more Spanish than Japanese. What do you think? I think my European roots came out.
