World Water Day and Flowers to Go

avatar

Didn't you know the time is not right
For you. for me, there's no oversight
Watching the clock, I'm sure it's too soon
Alert me when ready, sing me a tune
Why is it so that you want it to rush
The beauty is fleeting, gone at first blush

Today is World Water Day 2021, as designated by the United Nations. This year's theme was Valuing Water.

The World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the global water crisis, and a core focus of the observance is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

The theme of World Water Day 2021 is valuing water. The value of water is about much more than its price – water has enormous and complex value for our households, food, culture, health, education, economics, and the integrity of our natural environment. If we overlook any of these values, we risk mismanaging this finite, irreplaceable resource. SDG 6 is to ensure water and sanitation for all. Without a comprehensive understanding of water’s true, multidimensional value, we will be unable to safeguard this critical resource for the benefit of everyone. source

If we all do our part, the problems of the world can be solved more easily. Water is essential to every human being.

In the place just right,
We will be in the valley

I am always forgetting, but Mondays are all about Monochrome. So, I am running a little late, but, there you have it. Love you truly! Have a fabulous night! Just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we will do it again.

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

The Naming of Cats

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

The lilac is from last year. Mine is on the cusp of pushing out more green, so it seems, I am ahead of myself.

Would smoke signals work for you?

Have a most delightful day! :))

Water is cheap here, it is precious elsewhere, but its true value is tremendous!
It can be priceless!

I agree. We take it for granted here, where other travel distances, just for clean water.

Hi, Beauty! I hope Tuesday bodes you well. :))

Wow, I didn´t even know that a World Water Day was a thing but I am glad we have it because water absolutely deserves it. There would be no life on Earth without water, simple as that. Let´s protect and take a good care of the world´s water and its inhabitants :) Happy World Water Day!

I heard of it maybe 11 years ago? It was actually yesterday and I posted late. But, I put it in anyway, just to educate people on its existence. It is something that I took for granted growing up, but, volunteering and traveling to third-world places has opened my eyes.

Indeed! Let's protect it like it matters if we care about life at all. Happy Water Day! @phortun!

It's hard to believe that in 2021 we still have people without the basics?

water and sanitation for all by 2030.

Scandalous in fact.

It's true, in fact. It is more than what is believable to me. The worst? Eritrea: 80.7% lack basic water services. And the list goes on.

Water day! I did not know...
Fortunately for us, water is not a matter of survival. I am afraid for the future and for our grandchildren, but I have hope in technology.

I worry about my children and some day, their children. The technology is moving along, but, will that make it better? We live in such an artificial world now. :(

Oh yes well you may not know but we have this little thing called Water Wednesday...every Wednesday we share pics of water. Oh it is a blast. A proper wave of fun! You ought to try it one day now that you know all about it. Remember Water Wednesday... its an alliteration I believe the fancy folks call it.
