Recuerdo que mi madre siempre me decía, cuando te cases, te casaras con esa familia, no pensé que esas palabras serian tan ciertas, la sabiduría de los viejos, eso pensé cuando descubrí que era totalmente cierto, ¿a qué se deben estas palabras?, pues el día de ayer pase uno de los mejores de estos dos últimos años de cuarentena y, lo mejor de todo es que fue con esta familia que me adopto cuando forme un hogar con la mujer que ahora es mi esposa y madre de mi hija.

I remember my mother always told me, when you get married, you will marry into that family, I didn't think those words would be so true, the wisdom of the old, that's what I thought when I found out that it was totally true, why these words, yesterday I spent one of the best of these last two years of quarantine and, best of all is that it was with this family that adopted me when I formed a home with the woman who is now my wife and mother of my daughter.

Fue un día de celebración, ya que mi cuñada, a quien considero como una hija, que vi crecer, desde los 8 años, quien me ve como un padre, se graduó de periodista y debía ser un día de celebración como se lo merecía, después de tanto esfuerzo y así sucedió, nos levantamos muy temprano, luego de una jornada agotadora el día anterior, luego de alistarnos e irnos al salón donde se celebró el acto, no pude entrar, ya que los pases eran limitados y la asistencia estaba restringida a niños pequeños, así que fui niñero en la mañana mientras que el acto sucedía y, aunque no pude presenciarlo, me sentí bastante orgulloso.

It was a day of celebration, as my sister-in-law, whom I consider as a daughter, whom I watched grow up, since she was 8 years old, who sees me as a father, graduated as a journalist and it had to be a day of celebration as she deserved, after so much effort and so it happened, we got up very early, after an exhausting day the day before, after getting ready and going to the hall where the event was held, I could not get in, as passes were limited and attendance was restricted to young children, so I was a babysitter in the morning while the event was happening and, although I could not witness it, I felt quite proud.

Luego de terminarse, llegaron los abrazos y felicitaciones, una que otra foto, en la hermosa plaza, en las afueras del teatro, nos decidimos a seguir la celebración en un restaurante, juntos en familia, todavía no puedo creer, que en vez de suegros me gane unos padres, quienes me tratan como tal, un sitio agradable ciertamente, con una atención increíble y los espacios ni se digan, la comida exquisita y un café que ni les cuento, entre comidas, anécdotas y chistes, las horas pasaron volando y decidimos descansar, ya que la celebración apenas empezaba.

After finishing, the hugs and congratulations came, a photo or two, in the beautiful square, outside the theatre, we decided to continue the celebration in a restaurant, together as a family, I still can't believe that instead of in-laws I have parents! I still can't believe that instead of in-laws I have parents, who treat me as such, a nice place certainly, with an incredible attention and the spaces not to mention, the food was exquisite and the coffee was amazing, between meals, anecdotes and jokes, the hours flew by and we decided to rest, since the celebration was just beginning.

Llegamos a casa y descansamos unas horas, aunque con el bebe despierta no es mucho lo que podemos descansar, pero igual, al llegar la tarde nos alistamos y decidimos ir a casa de la abuela paterna de mi esposa, donde les tenían una sorpresa, no solo a mi cuñada/hija, sino también a mi esposa quien es periodista, y quisieron hacer una celebración para las dos Licenciadas en Comunicación Social, de la familia.

We got home and rested for a few hours, although with the baby awake we couldn't get much rest, but still, in the afternoon we got ready and decided to go to my wife's paternal grandmother's house, where they had a surprise, not only for my sister-in-law/daughter, but also for my wife who is a journalist, and they wanted to make a celebration for the two Bachelors in Social Communication, of the family.

Una reunión agradable, entre familia, no pudo faltar la buena comida, más abrazos, fotos por doquier y brindar por el logro familiar, ya que así percibí como lo recibieron y me pareció excepcional, algo que no he podido ver en mi propia familia y, rayos que se sintió tan bien, estar en ese ambiente, tampoco pudo faltar la buena música, y lo mejor, en vivo, con un cantante de merengue de la región, este estilo que nos hace mover a todos el esqueleto, como decimos acá, todo fue magnífico.

A nice meeting, among family, could not miss the good food, more hugs, photos everywhere and toast for the family achievement, as I perceived how they received it and I found it exceptional, something that I have not been able to see in my own family and, rays that felt so good, being in that environment, could not miss the good music, and the best, live, with a merengue singer of the region, this style that makes us all move the skeleton, as we say here, everything was magnificent.

Mi nueva familia | My new family

Aunque tengo 14 años con quien es mi esposa desde hace un poco más de 2, nunca me había sentido tan a gusto, tan querido, quizás por como me decía ella, tienes que dejarlos entrar y, ahora que lo hice, que bien se siente, la ausencia física de mis padres, la han llenado mis suegros y su familia, esto me ratifica mi manera de pensar, donde para mí actualmente, mi familia es mi base fundamental y lo mejor que puedo tener.

Although I have been with my wife for 14 years, who has been my wife for a little more than 2 years, I have never felt so comfortable, so loved, perhaps because as she told me, you have to let them in and, now that I have, how good it feels, the physical absence of my parents has been filled by my in-laws and their family, this ratifies my way of thinking, where for me now, my family is my fundamental base and the best thing I can have.
