Hello, friends especially foodies!
Maybe some of you already came here to Indonesia, or maybe only know Bali, a famous Indonesian island among tourists. But if you once come here to Indonesia, i don't want you to miss a lot of Indonesian Authentic Jajanan which were all delicious, tasty, unique and of course authentic! Jajanan means small food, but it is not snack, some even rice and some are cakes.

Today i would reveal some of the taste, are you ready?

First, i would like to inform to you that all of the Indonesian snacks i bought from the transportation apps to make it easier to get.

The first bunch of snacks came from a bakery which was located on Gambir area, could say that the price was quite expensive but not too expensive. Here how the box of snack looked like and what was inside.

The flavour of authentic Indonesian snack that we bought here.

Arem-arem
is one of this bakery speciality. It had savory sweet flavour. A rice cake with the beef filling, watchout they put a green chilli inside, so if you don't like spicy, you must aware of this chilli. This one was our favorite, why? cause they had the perfect flavour and texture which couldn't be compare to another place.

Lapis cokelat or if translated it would be chocolate layer cake, but this authentic cake was not baked, it was steamed. The texture was chewy and soft with sweet chocolaty flavour. So perfect!

Macaroni was actually kind of the chicken rougut plus macaroni inside of the skin which fried in bread crump. It had light savory flavour and nothing special with this. The food inspired from the Dutch culture.

Ongol-ongol was an indonesian traditional cakes which made from rice flour and had the coconut outside. It had sweet and a bit savory flavour. This was one of mom's favorite cake.

For the cakes above plus two bread, ordinary and not delicious bread :', we paid 47,400 IDR (got 8 items) so average was below 10k IDR.

And then next, the second bunch of jajanan which i ordered last sunday.

Look how tempting they were

Now, let me tell you each of the flavour.

Nasi Uduk Daun was rice cooked with coconut milk with the fried egg as it'a topping and it is served with the authentic Indonesian peanut paste and it was wrapped in banana leave. Like you could see from the picture, it was soooo tasty. It had savory flavour, with the peanut paste that had spicy, savory, a bit sweet and sour flavour. I totally adored this rice!

Kue pisang/talam pisang (banana cake)
It was a steamed cake so delicious and soft. Smooth and sweet, wrapped in the banana leave. Delicious and authentic!

Pastel
It had the vegetables and egg inside. It had the savory flavour and i put the spicy peanut sauce to add the spicy tasty flavour. The skin was soft but crunchy. Hmmh so yummy!

Pork shewmai
It was also so authentic with the smooth skin. It contained pork inside, it had savory and tasty flavour. I really loved this!

Wajik
Made from steamed sticky rice cooked in palm sugar, coconut and pandan leaves. It had the sweet and a bit savory. This was also mom's favorite.

Apem
Apem is made from fermented rice flour. It had soft chewy texture and it also had sweet flavour. So delicious and we loved it. A box of it contained 3 pcs of the cake.

Guess what? For all the food we bought in this second food stall, we only needed to pay 51,000 IDR for all 8 kind of item which means each was really under 0.7 USD.

For the really delicious and tasty food, i would order many from the second food stall. It was totally authentically delicious and also affordable. So, it's really no need much money to have more delicious food.

You could also try many Indonesian jajanan here, in Jakarta. You could also order from the 2nd place where i bought the food too.
