The "Broken Heart" Rock /Rocks
For Boulder Sunday, I'll be showing you a rock that (to me) resembles a broken heart. I'm not really sure if it was a single rock, at one time, that split into two or just that it is two separate rocks.
I found it in the water along the Stocksdale Trail and the Sweathouse Trail which is at the Central Area of the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. This area of the Gunpowder Falls State Park is located at approximately 10092 Belair Rd in Baltimore County, Maryland. The large rock or rocks were sitting in a mostly calm part of the water and the water was very pretty. The place where it was sitting in was shady and the water had some reflective colors of blue and green from the sky and trees from above and nearby.
As soon as I saw it I thought it looked like a broken heart. I think the colors of the moody water gives it a dramatic effect as well.
Sometimes when I look at it I feel a bit of sadness within the beauty of it also. With the spots of sun representing little rays of hope. It is also interesting to see where the little plant and blades of grass decided to grow on the right hand side. I wish I had gotten a photo from the angle that showed where they are growing but I did look through the photos that I took that day and couldn't find any. It will be interesting to see how it looks on a different day and make a comparison to this visit.
The following are a few edits that I did on the last photo above. If you decide to leave a comment then let me know if you think it resembles a broken heart as well and, hey, it's okay too if you don't think it does! 🙂

It ‘s an interesting rock Dee.💞 I think it resembles a broken heart and the color of the water adds to the effect. Lovely edits.🌸
Thank you very much Jo!! 💞

Thank you so much @kohsamui99!! Always something new or different to see each time I visit. 😉
You are welcome @deerjay you certainly do always find something different there it's a great spot 😊
I always am taken with rocks that look like hearts Dee. Love your broken heart, it is so big. Just imagine if we could put that in our gardens, it would be a wonderful focal point. ❤️
Thanks so much Angie!! I would love to have a couple of large rocks in the garden here. I sometimes look at some of them and wonder how old they are and how far they've travelled to wind up where they are. 🤔😊
I am often blown away with the history of rocks too. Time is such as interesting concept, people are here and in a blink of an eye they are gone! xx

Hello 💕 @deerjay! Sorry I'm so late replying!
I love seeing your beautiful photographs, such a wonderful
place to walk and looks even more inviting to swim!
I grew up a long a creek that was so much fun to wade and
swim in with lots of big rocks. Nothing like that here, the
waters are to cold lol
People must of been enjoying your area for many many
centuries! Love your edits, especially the rotating box! :-)
Thanks so much @shasta!! That's perfectly okay. Time gets away from me too and so I totally understand. Brr, I can imagine how cold the waters are there. I did watch some people tubing recently on the Gunpowder and it did look fun and cooling. I think they were with a scout group since they had a guide. There were a few adults in the group too. I watched them from the rocks and sneaked a couple of photos. 😉💖
