Saludos amigos; esta publicación que les traigo es la continuación del primer paseo de este maravilloso viaje que hice a Tenerife en 2011. Mi cuarto viaje a la isla.

Como les mencioné en el post pasado; este fue un recorrido por todas las playas de Los Cristianos y Las Américas al sur de Tenerife, donde hay más calor y menos lluvia que en el norte. Por supuesto es más árido, pero con una arquitectura de playa mediterránea muy linda.

En el sur de Tenerife todo gira en torno al sol y la playa. Millones de turistas al año de Europa sobre todo; van a calentarse un poco, huyendo de sus duros inviernos, encuentran en la isla un refujio cercano a sus países.

Ese día seguimos caminando bastante y cumpliendo sueños. Este viaje a Tenerife cumplió muchos sueños y en este paseo por Las Américas cumplí dos.

Antes de contarles mi primer sueño cumplido, les quiero mostrar el mapa con el recorrido caminado en la tarde. A eso hay que sumarle lo que les mostré en el post anterior.

As I mentioned in the last post; this was a tour of all the beaches of Los Cristianos and Las Americas in the south of Tenerife, where there is more heat and less rain than in the north. Of course it is more arid, but with a very nice Mediterranean beach architecture.
In the south of Tenerife everything revolves around the sun and the beach. Millions of tourists a year from Europe above all; they go to warm up a little, fleeing from their harsh winters, find in the island a refurbishment close to their countries.
That day we continue walking a lot and fulfilling dreams. This trip to Tenerife fulfilled many dreams and in this walk through the Americas I fulfilled two.
Before telling you my first dream come true, I want to show you the map with the walk in the afternoon. To that we have to add what I showed you in the previous post.

Cuando caminas por Las Américas te consigues cafés y restaurantes en cada paso, con bellos diseños que te invitan a sentarte. Todos son abiertos para que disfrutes de la brisa y el sol. Un restaurante cerrado con aire acondicionado es muy raro de encontrar, aunque cada hotel tiene el suyo.

Hablando de aire acondicionado; cuando viví en España me di cuenta que lo odian. La mayoría de las personas tienen una especia de fobia al aire acondicionado y viniendo de un país tropical donde amamos este invento moderno, se me hizo muy difícil la cultura de aguantar calor o encierro sin aire acondicionado.

En el sur de Tenerife es diferente. Allá puedes encontrar más locales con aire que me hacían sentir como cuando disfrutaba de las playas en Venezuela, sobre todo en Margarita y si eres venezolano seguro entenderás a qué me refiero. POr eso me gusta tanto el sur de Tenerife.

When you walk through Las Americas you get cafes and restaurants at every step, with beautiful designs that invite you to sit down. They are all open so you can enjoy the breeze and the sun. A closed restaurant with air conditioning is very rare to find, although each hotel has its own.
Speaking of air conditioning; when I lived in Spain I realized that they hate it. Most people have a kind of phobia about air conditioning and coming from a tropical country where we love this modern invention, I found it very difficult to endure the culture of heat or confinement without air conditioning.
In the south of Tenerife it is different. There you can find more places with air that made me feel like when I was enjoying the beaches in Venezuela, especially in Margarita and if you are Venezuelan you will surely understand what I mean. That's why I like the south of Tenerife so much.

Segundo Sueño (Patinar en la playa) - Second Dream (Skating on the beach)

Ahora sí voy con mi primer sueño cumplido, aunque debería ser el segundo porque ya estar en Tenerife con el amor de ese momento, era un sueño cumplido.

Desde que veía esas películas de chicas patinando en las playas de Santa Mónica, California; se me despertó la curiosidad. Se veían tan felices que pensé que sería una actividad increíble.

Solo había patinado cuando pequeño y sin terminar de aprender. Con unos patines que poco ayudaron a mi aprendizaje, me aburrí muy rápido y eso me pasó factura en Tenerife.

Apenas me puse los patines, caí. Una y otra vez, pero continuaba porque mi sueño era patinar en la playa.

Unos turistas ingleses se compadecieron de mi torpeza y me sostuvieron, aunque para después lanzarme con fuerza y reirse de mis miedos.

Fue un momento muy divertido, donde me pude reír de mí mismo.

Now I do go with my first dream fulfilled, although it should be the second because being in Tenerife with the love of that time, was a dream fulfilled.
Since I was watching those movies of girls skating on the beaches of Santa Monica, California; I was curious. They looked so happy that I thought it would be an incredible activity.
I had only skated when I was a kid and I hadn't finished learning. With some skates that helped little to my learning, I got bored very quickly and that took its toll on me in Tenerife.
As soon as I put on my skates, I fell. Again and again, but I continued because my dream was to skate on the beach.
Some English tourists took pity on my clumsiness and held me up, but then they threw me down hard and laughed at my fears.
It was a very funny moment, where I could laugh at myself.

Después de toda esa adrenalina me quité los patines, porque sino no terminaríamos el recorrido. Y caminando nos topamos con una playa muy importante para mí.

Aquí descansamos y nos bañamos un rato. En esta playa realizaba mi almuerzo cuando trabajé en la remodelación de unos apartamentos al frente de la misma. Era muy rico almorzar debajo de una palmera y descansar hasta la hora de continuar. Aunque también es duro ver tanta gente de vacaciones mientras tú tienes que regresar a cargar cemento.

After all that adrenaline I took off my skates, because otherwise we wouldn't finish the course. And while walking we came across a very important beach for me.
Here we rested and had a swim. I was having lunch on this beach when I worked on the remodeling of some apartments in front of it. It was very nice to have lunch under a palm tree and rest until it was time to continue. Although it's also hard to see so many people on vacation while you have to go back and load cement.

Tercer sueño (Jardín Tropical) - Third Dream (Jardín Tropical)

Cuando estuve en Tenerife la segunda vez y tenía 16 años; mis abuelos nos invitaron a una semana en el sur de la isla. En esa época vimos en el norte; específicamente en La Orotava.

En ese viaje al sur, dimos un paseo por parte del camino que recorrimos en este post. Caminando solo un pequeño trecho pero que fijó una imagen fuertemente en mi mente.

Esta imagen fue la del hotel Jardín Tropical que me pareció tan espectacular con esas piscinas y la vista que tenía al mar, que nació el sueño de visitarlo siendo adulto y con mi pareja. En realidad en ese momento recuerdo que me imaginé la luna de miel en ese lugar, pero ya este post se está poniendo muy cursi para la hora (no importa la hora que lo leas).

Llegamos al hotel Jardín Tropical y es cierto que pudimos pasar una noche ahí, pero quedarnos en casa de nuestros amigos era una bendición y muy divertido. Además que pudimos disfrutar de lo que me había enamorado del hotel; sus piscinas y sus vistas. Aunque no nadamos en la piscina, nos tomamos unos tragos celebrando un sueño cumplido.

This image was the one of the hotel Jardín Tropical that I found so spectacular with those pools and the view I had of the sea, that the dream of visiting it as an adult and with my partner was born. Actually at that moment I remember that I imagined my honeymoon in that place, but already this post is getting very corny for the time (it doesn't matter what time you read it).
We arrived at the Jardin Tropical hotel and it's true that we were able to spend a night there, but staying at our friends' house was a blessing and a lot of fun. Besides that we could enjoy what I had fallen in love with the hotel; its pools and its views. Although we didn't swim in the pool, we had a few drinks celebrating a dream come true.

El final de todo ese paseo donde obtuve 2 sueños complidos, terminó a las 18:00 en Playa Fañabé. Un lugar perfecto para tener un almuerzo-cena con una hermosa vista.

A esa hora nos buscó mi amigo para llevarnos a casa. La verdad es que queríamos continuar nuestra aventura, pero él no podía buscarnos en otro momento y con lo que nos cobraría un taxi hubiérmos pagado un fin de semana en Jardín Tropical...

The end of that whole walk where I got 2 dreams fulfilled, ended at 6:00 pm in Playa Fañabé. A perfect place to have a lunch-dinner with a beautiful view.
At that time my friend looked for us to take us home. The truth is that we wanted to continue our adventure, but he could not find us another time and with what we would charge a taxi we would have paid a weekend in Tropical Garden ...
