Bicycles and boats - Kampot, Cambodia
Kampot is famous in Cambodia for the iconic sunset over the river with Bokor Mountain in the background. And for a good reason! The view is very lovely. However, there are other more practical sides to Kampot such as the fishing boats and the massive amount of bicycles about.
The fishing boats vary in size. This is a medium size I'd say...

Fishing boats in the Cham village.
Bicycles are affordable transport. Taking the baby for a ride...
It's amazing the number of students going to and from school on bikes!
Another sunset photo. Kampot is very lovely.
A fishing boat on the way home at dusk. Many of them go out at dusk as well...
Always good to stop and refresh yourself along the way.
More fishing boats coming to pick up the crew and supplies before heading out to sea...
Kampot has some bigger boats down the river.
Now this is a proper boat. Probably they will load sand in it during the night and take it to Vietnam haha.
So these guys should be in school but that's not my problem haha. They were friendly kids. On bikes of course. The temple is next to the school.
School bikes.
Found this funky little house on the way. I could live like that although a balcony would be nice. Regardless I love the innovative mentality.
Hope you enjoyed the post and as always...
You have itchy feet too?? 😆 My wanderlust is killing me!! And yes, Kampot has been on my Asian list for a while now. And since I've been following @amygoodrich on Hive, even more so. :)
My Dutch self just wants to give a standing ovation to all the bicycles!
Itchy feet? A bit but Thailand generally does it fine for me... Wouldn't mind going to Penang though. Yes Cambodians ride bikes. I had forgotten the extent of it actually. I believe NGOs gave the bikes to the kids.
Penang Curry Laksa?? Suddenly I am starving!! LOL. Yes, NGOs gave loads of bicycles post khmer rouge.
Hoping the Malay border reopens for tourism one day soonish.... Enjoy your Saturday.

Actually I almost always eat south Indian food there ;) Best Indian food I've found outside of India. And teh terik and teh halia. There's some quite tasty Chinese about as well.
Nice article and photos. This one fits the Travelfeed community a little better. 😊
Yes I post over there sometimes as well. Thanks...
